Kate Middleton has decided to forgo using a makeup artist for her wedding, and when you look like Kate Middleton, I guess you can get away with it.

Middleton has had a series of private lessons with makeup artist Arabella Preston, and apparently, she is confident she can handle it.

"I heard that Arabella Preston was called in by a mutual friend of hers and Kate's," wedding planner Mark Niemierko tells People. "She's had about three or four lessons with Kate at her private flat in Chelsea and has also gone, very privately to Clarence House. Arabella was suppose to be coming on the day as well but now she isn't, because Kate's comfortable and confident in doing it herself."

Way to ensure job security, Kate. You might as well design your own wedding dress while you're at it. Kate's been known to keep things simple (aside from the whole marrying into royalty thing), and according to Niemierko, it's her attempt to "keep some normality" in her life.

"From my experience brides should look like a glamorous version of themselves on their wedding day. If you have your hair up normally, have your hair up. But, having said that, even if you're going for a natural, no makeup look, you need quite a lot of product – especially for the photos."

Sure, there will be thousands of photographers snapping her photo, but she's done well in the past. Kate did her own makeup for her official engagement photos, and they turned out beautifully. And anyway, it's a skill she's going to need to learn:

"Part of the whole protocol of learning to be royal is learning how to do your own makeup," Niemierko says.
