Kate Middleton has been photographed in some interesting headpieces. If I had anywhere to go, I’d love to experiment with them, but I doubt it’s appropriate fashion for picking up boxed wine at Target and going home to watch reruns of The Office.

Nevertheless, we’ve selected our four favorite Kate hat looks, and here’s hoping a more casual variation of them will pop up in the states!

1. Feathered Bangs Kate somehow makes hair looking like a birds nest a good thing. She wore this look in 2006 at Prince Charles’ wedding to Camilla Parker-Bowles.

2. Shady LadyNot that you need it in England, but this wide-brimmed hat makes a great umbrella from the sun. Kate showed this piece off at Prince William’s Garter Ceremony in 2008.

3. Flying SaucerKate looked stunning in this all black, wide-brimmed hat that she wore to a 2010 wedding, accompanied by William, of course.

4. Classy Velvet CapThis one isn’t so much a hat as it is a hairpiece, but Kate pulls it off just as nicely. It’s pretty, demure, and fits her personality perfectly. This one was designed by a small company called Vivien Sheriff Millnery, and Kate donned it at a ceremony in her home town back in February.

Between stylish hats and a highly sought-after Prince, Kate knows how to accessorize. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to fill my wine glass and attend an event. And by “wine glass” and "attend an event", I mean "Dixie cup" and "drunk nap". I think the flying saucer hat is perfect for this occasion.
