Will she wear Princess Diana’s old dress? Will she wear a British based designer? How many times will she change? These are all questions that have been asked regarding Kate Middleton’s mystery wedding dress. Top notch labels such a Gucci, Nina Ricci, Badgley Mischka and many more have all made sketches with the hope that the princess-to-be will possibly wear one of their gowns. Kate’s gown is already ready and no one but Kate, her mom, sister and the designer knows who she is wearing. Chances are Kate will change two to three times throughout the day. She will walk down the aisle wearing the most extravagant gown and later change for something a bit simpler for the reception with the dignitaries. Later in the evening she will get even more casual for the second reception with close friends and family. That’s when she’s going to get down to jams by Jay Z and Beyonce! Originally there were rumors that Sarah Burton, Creative Director of Alexander McQueen was going to design the dress, but she denied it telling Vogue, "I am not doing it," insisted Burton to Vogue.com. "No, not at all," added Alexander McQueen's CEO, Jonathan Akeroyd. "I'm the CEO, I would know if we were doing it." There goes that rumor. Next! Then there is British designer Bruce Oldfield. Bruce was Princess Diana’s favorite designer often wearing his designs to lavish Royal parties. Bruce Oldfield hasn’t denied the rumors and has hinted that Kate will actually wear two dresses for her big day. Something tells us he is playing some part in designing the dress, but like he said, "You know the rules," which means he can’t talk about it. And then there’s Issa London. Kate wore Issa during the engagement announcement and Issa is Kate’s favorite label. A lot of signs point to Kate wearing a gown designed by Daniella Helayel. Here’s some info on Issa London that you might find interesting. Designer Daniella Helayel is actually Brazilian, but her label is based in London. Daniella created the line when she couldn’t find a dress to wear. The name Issa comes from the sense of elation Helayel encountered on beaches at home in Brazil: “‘Issa’ is a surfer’s cry of joy when riding the perfect wave.” Celeb favorites of the label include Kate, Madonna, Princess Beatrice and Eugenie, Scarlett Johansson, Kylie Minogue, Keira Knightly and Jennifer Lopez. Her dresses are with distinctive colors and unique prints. I highly doubt Kate will wear prints or distinctive colors down the aisle. There’s also celebrity favorite Phillipa Lepley, who opened her bridal shop in 1990 in Chelsea. Since then Phillipa has built a reputation for designing simple yet elegant bridal gowns using lavish fabrics and delicate lace. That has Kate written all over it! There you have it! Who do guys think will be the winner? Below are some pictures of sketches from designers for Kate.
