Princess Diana\'s Wedding Dress Headed to the U.S.
Just like rockstars and pop singers, the late Princess Diana's wedding dress is going on a world tour.

The iconic wedding dress from Diana Princess of Wales 1981 wedding to Prince Charles will be put on display during a special exhibit in Connecticut. While Connecticut hardly seems like the most regal part of the United States, that's where it's heading. It will be featured at the Foxwood’s Resort Casino as part of the Diana, A Celebration collection.

The collection has been touring since November 6, 2010 and was last in Grand Rapids, Michigan where the collection apparently gained a 129% increase in attendance for the Grand Rapids Art Museum which housed the touring collection. The Museum has Princess Diana to thank for that.

"Diana was a big eye opener, not only locally, but around the country," says the museums CEO.

The Diana, A Celebration collection will stay there until January 15, 2012 and will also feature home movies from the royal family, rare photos, family heirlooms, personal mementos and designer outfits, which have been loaned out from her family's Althorp estate.

The fairytale wedding dress was designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel, made from silk Taffeta with a tiny waist and a huge skirt. The sleeves were puffy and adorned with antique lace, and hand embroidered with hundreds of sequins and ten thousand pearls. Mind you, this was 1981, so this was the best possible wedding dress any 80's bride could wish for.

Princes Diana was one of the first modern royals to capture the heart of the public with her beauty, philanthropy, and also her fashion sense. Following in her footsteps is the newly royal Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. Diana paved the way for Kate Middleton to become a royal and also a style icon.

Last night, Catherine went solo for the first time to a dinner at Clarence House for the Prince of Wales' charity, In Kind Direct. Williams dad, Charles Prince of Wales had to fly out to Saudi Arabia to pay his respects after the death of the Crown Prince Sultan, so Kate stepped in as a last minute replacement for Prince Charles.

And true to her form, she looked stunning as per usual. Wearing a pale blue chiffon floor length gown with beaded detail and wearing her hair in a delicate half-up style.

"She is more beautiful in person than you can imagine, she literally wowed the room," and insider said, "She looked amazing."
