The Duchess Royal Wedding Dress on Display
Kate Middleton’s wedding dress will go on display at Buckingham palace.

Starting Saturday, regular people can take a tour of Buckingham palace and in addition to the boring tours of old hallways, dusty bedrooms, and historic artwork… tourists can also glimpse the Royal wedding dress from behind a roped off distance.

The Sarah Burton designed dress for Alexander McQueen will be the centerpiece of the “Royal Wedding” exhibition where it stands under lights in the Ballroom. The beautiful ivory and white satin-gazar dress is accompanied with the Queen’s Cartier “Halo” tiara.

The tour allows visitors to gaze 19 state rooms, a Royal Faberge exhibit and a stroll through the garden, but really, everyone there is to see the dress.

“Visitors will see what a great example of British couture it is,” says the exhibition curator, “And how much detail and how much work went into the creation of this dress. The beauty really is in the detail.”

Also on display are the Alexander McQueen bridal shoes handmade from the same ivory satin gazer as the dress and a replica of Kate’s bridal bouquet with silk flowers.

Additionally, the wedding cake with a slice from the first cut missing is also on display. Note to everyone: Don’t take this tour if you want to feel bad about how boring your own wedding was.
