The Royal Wedding Dress Raises $465K For Charity
Remember Kate Middleton’s Royal wedding dress? Yeah, duh, how could you forget? Anyways, the dress went on exhibition at Buckingham Palace and now the Royal Collection, the company that organizes the annual exhibits, has cut a check for $465,000 to Kate Middleton’s charity.

I just want to emphasize that the “wedding dress exhibition” is literally just the dress and a spotlight and maybe some displays of tea-cups, I can’t be sure, the point is, they raised that much money on people wanting to see a dress. Just one dress.

Actually, $465K isn’t even what the entire exhibition raked in, that’s just the percentage they decided to give to charity.

Buckingham Palace’s annual summer opening, in which the Duchess’ royal wedding dress was the key piece, brought $15 million in total ticket sales. More than 620,000 visitors attended the exhibition – up 52% from the year before.

The Duchess’ charity in question is the Royal Foundation, a charity helmed by Kate, her husband Price William and his brother Prince Harry.

Thanks to the lovely Sarah Burton designed gown, a charity just got $465K richer.

In related news, Kate Middleton appears on the cover of the South African edition of Marie Claire. If you’re wondering how and why, because you’re a pretty loyal Duchess follower and know that she doesn’t appear on mag covers ever, you would be right. Marie Claire didn't use Kate, but the work of a fan of Photoshop instead.
