Katy Perry Goes Back to Her Roots With a Blonde Do
December 5, 2011 by: KRISTIN WONG

Now, after a stint with natural red, blonde, and then finally pink, Katy has changed her color yet again. At this point, her brain’s been exposed to more chemicals than Russell Brand’s!
Perry chopped off her long pink hair and had it styled into a plain but chic bob, and then decided to go back to her natural color—blonde. But she just couldn’t completely let go of the pink, as she’s left some of it in as highlights.
Perry debuted her new chin-length bob at the Change Begins Within benefit in Los Angeles on Saturday.
Similarly, Katy’s BFF, Rihanna, also decided to go blonde. Rihanna showed off a blonde bob very similar to Katy’s during a concert in London. Twinsies! Well, kinda. Rihanna traded in the pink highlights for blunt cut bangs.
Last week, Barbie brand Mattel announced that Katy Perry will join the ranks of other celebrities by being immortalized as a Barbie doll.
Perry’s Barbie doll has long blue mermaid hair and is dressed in Katy’s iconic cupcake dress. This might be the kid in me talking, but it would be sooo cool if the Katy Perry Barbie came with wigs. Oooh, and a Russell Brand Ken doll!
Okay, back to the grown up world. Nicki Minaj will also get her own doll, and hers comes with long, pink hair. The dolls will be available via auction until December 19.
According to Mattel, only one Katy and one Nicki doll will be produced. The dolls have been auctioned off with all of the proceeds going to the Project Angel Food organization. So far, the Barbies have already surpassed the $3,000 mark and are expected to rake in $15,000 in the name of charity.
Katy’s Barbie description reads: “Inspired by Katy’s scrumptious cupcake dress, her stunning look-alike doll is just as yummy in an outfit that features 70 hand-painted, mini “cupcakes”, a candy-colored glitter-kissed bodice and fishnet stockings dotted with shimmering Swarovski crystals…Katy Perry doll is ready to display with her too-sweet-to-eat waffle-cone stage complete with swirly pops, ‘ice cream’ mountains and cotton candy clouds.”
And now I’m hungry.
