Katy Perry Poses For Snow White Inspired Ads
October 6, 2011 by: MADISON VANDERBERG

I don't really know how I feel about Katy Perry, she's kind of always cartoon-ish, from her pink hair to her smurfette dresses, but I guess posing as a sexy Snow White is right up her alley.
In the David LaChappelle photographs, Katy goes 1920's retro glam in a long black dress with revealing front slit, short black pin curls and taking a bite from a poisonous apple a la the Evil Queen from Snow White.
The photo is so photoshopped that they probably could have CGI'd the singer in, saved some money, and called their "model" Kathy Peri.
The second photo features Katy in a John Galliano pink flapper style dress with pink boa. She is hanging over the ledge of an oldie-timey fire escape surrounded by birds, squirrels and a few bunnies. Remember that whole, Snow-White-is-friends-with-forrest-critters thing?
So these photos are like sultry Snow White meets 1920's vixen. Also, strategically placed in the ads are some of GHD's ceramic flat irons. Because ya know, she's modeling for GHD hair products and not for slutty Snow White Halloween costumes.
This shoot is to announce the new GHD Scarlet collection - two art deco hair styling tongs. Katy says while she prefers her new pink locks, she did like getting that curled black bob for her Evil Queen look, "I think it's a bold look for me, especially for the short hair, but I've actually had a pixie cut before. I used to have a black pixie cut when I was about 17-18-19, so I felt I was reliving that part of my life again."
Let's hope she wasn't poising apples when she was 17 too.
"It's really cute," she said, "I'd probably wear this look again, but I probably wouldn't do it for long."
Of her Snow White shot, "The Snow White fire escape look was really cool. It was very peachy."
"There were lots of little birds hanging around so I felt like a princess, like Snow White, and I was singing and talking to the birds as they fluttered around me. I would maybe wear something like this again. I liked the glittering fishnets I got to wear with it. I liked the hair - it's super frizzy."
Why they choose Katy to model for the hair brand, "Katy is the epitome of modern fashion and styling," says Paul Stoneham, CEO of GHD.
He obviously never saw the cupcake bra. ugggh.
