Katy Perry turns into a Mermaid for ghd Ads

Katy Perry gets turned into a Mermaid for an ad for ghd Air hair dryers. Uhmmm, I’ve got a logic issue…why would a mermaid ever need a blow dryer?

If we’re going for the Katy-Perry-Is-A-Whimsical-Creature model, she should AT LEAST be a unicorn, or a fairy, or a troll. Those guys could definitely benefit from a blow-dyer, but a mermaid, not so much.

Anyways, let’s suspend our disbelief for a moment and assume that Katy Perry WOULD use a hair dryer underwater. She looks very pretty, it’s a very nice photo. Great job everyone, great job David LaChapelle for taking the photos.

Katy talks about the shoot, “David LaChapelle made the set amazing. It was fun – I got to have purple hair which foreshadowed the real purple hair I had last fall. It’s as if Lisa Frank had done The Little Mermaid.”

Katy admits she loved the mermaid costume so much she wanted to steal it for Halloween especially since Perry is “such a fan of the Disney movies.”

For Katy Perry’s last photo shoot for the ghd flatiron, she posed as a sultry version of Snow White and the Evil Queen. So yeah, ghd really has a thing for Disney flicks.

As for those ghd hair dryers, they are promised to deliver “the best results of any hairdryer on the market.”

The ghd air goes for about $199 and will become available in March.
