Kardashians Threatened With Suit Over \"Cheap\" Beauty Line
If you’re keeping up with the Kardashians while Keeping Up with the Kardashians is off the air, then you’re aware of their latest business venture--this time for a forthcoming make up product line called Khroma Beauty.

However it’s not yet distributed and it’s already facing some potential legal action in the threat of a lawsuit from a Los Angeles boutique also called Chroma, a high-end make up line and store in Beverly Hills.

Apparently the co-owner Michael Rey thinks the sisters should change the brand’s name to Khrap because the future drugstore brand (marketed to hit store shelves like CVS, Sears, Duane Reade and other places not in a five block radius of a Beverly Hills anything) will create “confusion in the marketplace.” Way harsh, Tai.

Michael wrote a letter for his customers with a few choice phrases, calling Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe’s beauty line “low-budget cosmetic products,” “cheapens” his already established company, and promotes the “mistaken and incorrect belief that we have decided to market inferior cosmetic products.” In short, Chroma ain’t Khroma and don’t get it twisted!

Michael’s not suing (yet), but tells TMZ if the sister klan doesn’t wise up and change it ASAP then he has lawyers ready.

We’ve reached out, but have yet to hear from the Khroma’s PR. However, according to a TMZ source close to the business/family, the sister’s aren’t backing down and plan to use a trademark on “Kardashian Khroma” and “Khroma Beauty by Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe” that’s still pending, but are confident (konfident!) to be approved. Calling it a secret weapon for a launch that already has a logo, Facebook page, and PR email address.

Michael, on the other hand, has no “Chroma” trademarks on record…there is already one though for another make up brand called “Kroma” and who knows how that wrench will affect the whole debacle. Maybe this means its time for Michael to get on a secret weapon of his own: developing a super technologically advanced concealer that’s so good it can make the Kardashians disappear altogether.
