Bette Midler wants Lady Gaga to buy her old stage costumes. Bette Midler is a veteran entertainer and Broadway star and the same woman who accused Lady Gaga of stealing her mermaid schtick. On Lady Gaga's recent tour stop in Australia she performed as a mermaid bound to a wheelchair, yah, I know I vomited a little bit too. However, Gaga didn't know that Bette Midler did the same exact thing in the past.

Now, Midler is auctioning off her old Mermaid costumes among her other collection of outfits and says Lady Gaga can have anything she wants! She said she would be "thrilled" if Gaga bought items from the collection. "I hope she buys at least a little bit. It would be fun," says Midler.

Midler will auction off her clothes next month and says Gaga can "have want she wants." Midler especially wants Gaga to buy her original mermaid tail, "I think [Gaga] should go for a real wheelchair and a real fishtail because these are really beautiful. They are decorated and hand-beaded."

"There are so many wonderful ideas and so much of it. So much of it is so funny. If she is interested, she can have whatever she wants because she is a very talented girl and I love her a lot," says Midler.

This is a far cry from what Bette Midler used to say about Gaga. When she first saw the 'mermaid-in-a-wheelchair" routine she tweeted, "Dear @ladygaga I’ve been doing singing mermaid in a wheelchair since 1980-You can keep the meat dress and the firecracker tits, mermaid’s mine.”

She then followed it up with, "I’m not sure @ladygaga knows that I’ve performed my mermaid in a wheelchair for millions of people." Busted.

Anyways, now she has no problem pawning off her mermaid garb, or maybe she just needs to make a quick buck. Whatever it is, Midler announces, “Fabulous mermaids can coexist!”

Bette Midler will auction off more than 300 items at Julien's Auction in California on November 12, 2011. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the singer's charity, the New York Restoration Project.

Midler decided to have the auction because she says she doesn't want her daughter to have to deal with maintaing or selling the collection after she passes away. While mermaid tails don't really appeal to everyone's tastes, some of her high bid items include a Valentino gown and the outfit Midler wore during her "The Showgirl Must Go On" performances and these outfits can grab anywhere from $1,000 to $3,000 at the auction.
