Donatella Versace Loves Lady Gaga

Duh, I could have told you that. All trannys like Lady Gaga.

Donatella Versace, who took over as Vice President of Versace in 1997 – says she is inspired by young people and likes Lady Gaga because Gaga doesn’t wear what she’s told; basically Donatella loves artists like Gaga and Nicki Minaj because they don’t give a f-ck.

“Of course I love Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj, they’re not afraid to dare. It’s been a while since someone went out there and didn’t listen too much to the marketing people. You still have to listen to them but not 100 percent,” reveals Donatella.

I have no idea what that means? She says Gaga doesn’t listen to the “marketing people” but thinks she should listen, but just not listen 100%? Ahh the old listening but not-listening trick, that will show those “marketing people” whose boss. What’s that? No meat dress says the marketing people? Pah, I’ll wear it anyways says Lady Gaga.

Donatella reveals that Gaga actually helped promote the Versace label when she started wearing vintage Versace. I guess you could say she introduced a new generation to the 30-year-old label.

“The reaction to her was amazing. Everybody was writing on our website asking where they can find this and that” reveals Donatella.

But Donatella says it’s young people in general that inspire her as a designer.

“I’m always looking at young people. Girls today love to dress up,” say the designer, “They love the Medusa. You see it even if they just buy a belt or sunglasses. They want to look cool and sexy. They don’t want to look ordinary.”

Donatella says it’s her obsession with young people and young people’s obsession with Versace that inspired her to do the collaboration with H&M. Versace just launched a limited edition collection for H&M that is basically a “greatest hits” of vintage Versace. Donatella says she wants to educate all the young kids that wear the brand.

“All these people reacting to what was in the archives – Gaga, the people in London, the young kids in the office – they’re 25 years old, they’re obsessed…But they don’t know the whole story. So we did a best of Versace for H&M, a greatest hits, from the beginning until now.”

Think of it as a fashion museum, coming to a mall near you.
