Lady Gaga was named CFDA Fashion Icon at the Council of Fashion Designers of America annual fashion awards in NYC last night.

I guess meat dresses and Kermit the Frog frocks are haute couture, because Lady Gaga was honored this year with the Fashion Icon award.

Gaga was wearing her usual towering platform shoes, a custom Thierry Mugler bustier, and taking a cue from Nicki Minaj was wearing an aqua blue bob wig.

Some may have been shocked that the pop star was honored; past recipients have been fashionistas such as Iman, Kate Moss, Sarah Jessica Parker and Nicole Kidman.

In true to Gaga form, she dedicated this award to all her gagettes out there. After she told an anecdote of how she would save her money to buy vintage Thierry Mugler from thrift stores in her younger days, she accepted the award on behalf of American youth.

Gaga describes, “as much as this award means to me personally…I just want you to know how much this means to young Americans.”

Awww, mother monster. Lady Gaga also called Anna Wintour a bitch. Sort of. When it was announced that she was to win the award, Gaga received a congratulatory text from Anna Wintour.

Gaga assumed it was a text from her friend named Anna, so Gaga replied to Wintour with a message saying, “Yes, bitch, we did it!” Hey, we were all thinking it, but Gaga finally said it.
