Stars Copy Michael Jackson's Iconic Wardrobe Pieces

Jackson didn’t take a day off, and as a result, his signature style has become legendary. Here are our favorite Michael Jackson wardrobe pieces.
Crystal Encrusted Glove: People flew in from all over the world to participate in Planet Hollywood’s Michael Jackson memorabilia auction in 2010. The Swarovski-crystal-studded glove Jackson wore on his 1984 Victory Tour went for $190,000. Lady Gaga has often sported the single-handed glove look, borrowing from Jackson’s signature style. Jackson reportedly wore one glove because two would be ordinary. The glove also reminded him of being onstage, where he felt most comfortable.
Aviators: Michael Jackson’s favorite sunglasses were aviators. While the style has been around forever, Jackson helped bring them back. And when they went back out of style, he resurrected them yet again.
Letterman Jacket: Who can forget the bright red letterman jacket Michael wore in the Thriller video? The Jacket carried a large “M” monogram on the breast. Gaga paid homage during her 2010 tour, while she was in Melbourne. Hers was, of course, spiked and paired with leopard tights. Justin Bieber has been spotted in a letterman jacket similar to Jackson’s, though his has a big B on the breast, of course.
Fedoras: Fedoras have been around for ages, but Michael Jackson, along with Indiana Jones, made them a part of his look. He wore a sleek, white fedora in Smooth Criminal, and wore a plain black one regularly. Now, it’s become the go-to hat for The Jonas Brothers, Britney, Rihanna and a batch of less-musically inclined celebrities.
The ‘Bad’ Jacket: Probably one of his most copied looks, Jackson sported a slightly studded black leather jacket for the cover of Bad. The leather jacket has made such a big comeback, and while we can’t give all the credit to Michael Jackson, it’s certainly reminiscent of his look.
The Red Jacket: If you’re going as Michael Jackson for Halloween, the black-and-red leather jacket from Thriller would be the one to go with. Complete with rolled up sleeves, Jackson rocked this look. It’s been copied by Chris Brown, who has performed wearing similar—and sometimes identical—versions of the jacket.
