Lana del Rey The New Face and Voice of H&M
It’s been announced that not only will Lana del Ray be the new sneer of H&M this fall: she’ll also be the voice of the retail giant for their upcoming fall campaign. Which I am cautiously taking to mean that she’ll be played more than usual in stores, which is why I’m readying my earplugs now.

Del Ray was already shot by Inez can Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin for her print campaign, and will sing a cover of “Blue Velvet” in a campaign video directed and shot by Johan Renck.

The video will go up on www.hm.com on September 19th and will also be used for a television ad campaign, ensuring that Lana will be inescapable come autumn.

I’m sort of reluctant to admit it, but he campaign images are actually pretty gorgeous—Lana models some very ‘60s inspired looks with long Jackie-O brown hair, heavy eyeliner and her trademark claw nails and dead eyes.

She joins David Beckham, who is the face of his own bodywear line and will have 10-foot-tall statues in certain stores this fall.

Madonna and Kylie Minogue have also posed for the Swedish brand, which is also set to launch more of their mob creating designer collabos this year—one with Maison Martin Margiela, on November 15th, and another with Vogue’s Anna Dello russo on October 4th.
