Lauren Conrad Destroys Books For Fun
No one was every silly enough to really believe that Lauren Conrad would do something so booooring as to read, especially not the poor ghostwriter who penned her books. But everyone was understandably a bit surprised and nauseated when she decided to take an X-acto knife to Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events to make a storage box out of their poor little covers. For her YouTube craft channel. Yes.

With Martha Stewarty music playing in the background, Conrad recommends that you DESTROY VINTAGE BOOKS to make your boxes look prettier. She then recommends that you use the pages for other crafts.

Here’s a question: Why the hell is she cutting up Lemony Snicket books? Why not her own oeuvre? Would a shelf made of “L.A. Candy,” “Sweet Little Lies,” “Sugar and Spice,” and “The Fame Game,” just not look as shabby chic as her shelf/box/abomination of the A Series of Unfortunate Events spines does?

The video has since been removed from her YouTube channel, but Buzzfeed has a copy up at their site for your viewing displeasure.

Lemony Snicket had the last and best ever word on the matter, though: "It has always been my belief that people who spend too much time with my work end up as lost souls, drained of reason, who lead lives of raving emptiness and occasional lunatic violence. What a relief it is to see this documented."
