Lauren Conrad Dishes On New Collection For Paper Crown

Lauren Conrad does a little bit of everything. The former reality star has four books published. A blog on Forbes.com. Two clothing lines. A beauty website and a beauty range on the way.

But the LC project we really love is her Paper Crown line that debuted at Nordstroms this year. Paper Crown is the upscale, high-rent version to her LC Lauren Conrad Collection for Kohls. So far she has three collections for the brand, which feature pretty outfits for professional young women. Lauren Conrad's personal style is perfectly captured in Paper Crown, especially in the new Pre-Spring 2012 collection.

Hollyscoop's sister site Modamob caught up with Lauren at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic where she reveals that her newest collection is already gearing up for bikini weather.

"For pre-spring I had so much fun, it’s kind of a resort line. It’s really my niche, it’s what I love. It’s the idea of those really chic pieces that you could really wear over a bikini. Like this top that I’m wearing is longer, I’ve literally worn it over a bikini or to a Polo match. It’s just nice transitional pieces," Lauren tells Modamob.

Luckily for us, in California, it's literally bathing suit season year round. Since Lauren Conrad was once a Laguna Beach teen, her designs completely capture that vibe.

We asked the young designer what fashionistas can expect from fall fashion in general and she admits she hasn't been shopping in a while. Whoops.

"I just went shopping, I had not shopped in so long. I’m hunting for knits that’s like my big thing I’m trying to find. I’m really into all the great leathers right now. Even in LA we’re not fall weather yet. It’s like 90 degrees out. I love the warm leather weather trend."

And another trend for fall is dying your hair just a little bit darker. Lauren says she darkened her hair, "a little. I did copper penny on my base." But it's not too brunette, don't worry, LC always is and will be a blonde California girl.

Lauren talked up Paper Crown during LA Fashion Week and says the collection is very versatile.

"You design what you love and what you want to wear yourself. I think lots of girls could wear this line and wear it their own way. I love it when people style the clothing themselves and not just the way they saw it styled somewhere," says Conrad.

Also on the Horizon for Conrad includes a beauty line, "Right now, one of my main objectives is to expand TheBeautyDepartment.com into a product line. I am currently researching all of my options, but should begin the process of executing an actual line very soon - stay tuned.
