The Holidays are here which means, holiday parties: lots and lots of them. And no, that red dress with the green Christmas trees on it is NOT okay to wear anymore. Unless you teach the 2rd grade or want to be single until Valentines day, do not wear.

Here are some Holiday Fashion tips from the girl who made “wearing dresses to work” a thing, Lauren Conrad.

“During holiday parties I end up recycling a lot of my cocktail dresses, and just wearing a layering piece, like a blazer and tights, with it,” the reality TV star turn fashion icon tells Fab Sugar.

Just because it is cold out doesn’t mean you can’t still dress cute. Just drink faster and the effects of the alcohol should even out how cold that little black dress truly is. Believe me, it works.

Conrad’s newest collection for Papercrown is inspired by these wintry, holiday months. “ When I was designing, I was really keeping in mind the types of things you do during these months,” says Conrad. “You’re going to a lot of holiday parties, and you want to look festive and still put together. So we had a lot of fun with that.” She says some of the items include embellishing like bows and cute patterns, “On the top we did little bows to symbolize the holidays,” says Conrad.

You should snatch up her winter collection asap, as she says her Pre-Spring 2012 collection is “bikini-friendly.”

“"For pre-spring I had so much fun, it’s kind of a resort line. It’s really my niche, it’s what I love. It’s the idea of those really chic pieces that you could really wear over a bikini. Like this top that I’m wearing is longer, I’ve literally worn it over a bikini or to a Polo match. It’s just nice transitional pieces,” Conrad tells Hollyscoop.

But back to the Holidays. Conrad says that for Christmas she doesn’t ask for clothes, surprisingly. She must have it all already…this is what she asks for at X-mas,” My wish list for family is always something I can eat, drink or burn,” she says. “I don’t need a lot of things. So a nice scented candle, or a bottle of wine, or just treats — those are always fun.”
