The Hills star is set to release her fourth novel, The Fame Game, on April 3, 2012. The novel follows Madison Parker, the main character from Conrad’s original L.A. Candy trilogy, who discovers Hollywood isn’t as glamorous as she thought it was.
Which means she probably runs into some deranged bums and weirdos who dress like Jesus for no apparent reason.
“The tone is going to be slightly darker,” Lauren Conrad revealed. “The first book was written through the eyes of someone who had never been to Hollywood before, who never really aspired toward fame or money. This series is about a girl who loves everything that fame is, and that's all she's ever really wanted."
Err…does this girl also get $30,000 worth of plastic surgery and end up living with her boyfriend’s parents?
Conrad also revealed the cover for the novel, which is pretty simple, but still eye-catching. With a black background, it just features a broken peppermint lollipop in the shape of a star. Not sure what that has to do with fame, but—oh, a star. Very metaphorical!
And oh, this isn’t the only book that Conrad has coming out. She’s also planning to put out a follow up to her Harper Collins’ book, Lauren Conrad Style. The book is titled, Lauren Conrad Beauty. The book will feature diet and skincare tips as well as hairstyle ideas and makeup rules.
“In addition to The Fame Game series, I am also working on another book: Lauren Conrad BEAUTY,” Conrad announced. “Like Lauren Conrad Style, my beauty book will be your ultimate guide for all things beauty.”
There’s no dating book in the works (yet), but earlier this month, Conrad was linked to Dancing With The Stars’ Derek Hough. A witness saw the two hit up L.A. Sayers Club, where they were “very flirty.”
“They were dancing and holding hands!” the witness added.
Then, over the weekend, the two were spotted on a double date with Ryan Seacrest and Derek’s sister, Julianne Hough. They were all hanging out at Beecher’s Madhouse at the Roosevelt Hotel.
But it looks like the rumors are just rumors. Conrad assured Hollyscoop:
“I’m newly single, and I plan on being that way for some time.” Sorry, Derek.
But with all this writing on her plate, who can blame her?
