While her former co-star Kristen Cavallari has been busy ballroom dancing with other c-list celebs, and Audrina is not-busy watching her own show get cancelled, Lauren Conrad has been HUSTLING!
Since Lauren split with her longtime boyfriend Kyle Howard in June, LC has been putting all her energy into beautifying America. She just launched TheBeautyDepartment.com with her hairstylist and make-up artist, which is a blog that tells you how to blowdry your hair and pluck your eyebrows, I'm so serious.
She announced on her Forbes.com blog, "Right now, one of my main objectives is to expand TheBeautyDepartment.com into a product line. I am currently researching all of my options, but should begin the process of executing an actual line very soon - stay tuned."
She's also going to expand her clothing line for Kohls, "LC Lauren Conrad," as well as her big-girl designs for "Paper Crown."
Oh she's also working on a fifth book, "The Fame Game." Did you know she had four other books? I did, but that's because I'm a crazy person. Lauren's first three books were a series of novels called the "L.A. Candy" series which are about a girl named Jane Roberts who moves to Hollywood, works at an events planning company and eventually gets her own reality show with three other girls. If it sounds a lot like Lauren Conrad's actual life, it's because it is.
Her fourth book was a coffee table book called, "Lauren Conrad Style" which was a picture book that taught you how do things like "layer t-shirts" and pull off the "perfect ponytail." Again, I'm so serious.
With a make-up line on the way, Lauren's higher rent range Paper Crown just debuted at Nordstrom this season which features casual yet pretty outfits for young, professional women.
"You design what you love and what you want to wear yourself. I think lots of girls could wear this line and wear it their own way. I love it when people style the clothing themselves and not just the way they saw it styled somewhere," says Conrad.
However, Conrad knows she a reality TV star turned designer, but she doesn't want people to continue calling her that-chick-from-the-hills-that-designs-high-waisted-skirts-and-maxi-dresses.
"I've obviously been able to take advantage of the opportunities that I have, but I wanted this collection to stand on its own and for people to buy the clothes because they life them, and not because of my name."
