Phelps Poses With Olympic Legend for New Louis Vuitton Ad
Post-Olympics season usually finds many of our most photogenic athletes trying very hard to maintain their fame. Michael Phelps, dubbed the ‘Greatest Olympian of All Time’ by almost everyone, is one of the few who doesn’t seem to have to try very hard (ahem, Ryan Lochte!).

He was booked for Louis Vuitton’s new campaign, and his shots have been released over the past few days.

One showed him relaxing (or trying to relax—he didn’t look like he was doing it so well) in a bathtub, with a large leather Louis tote on the floor and a suspect cluster of bubbles between his legs.

The second image, from LV’s Core Values campaign (remember Angelina, barefoot on that raft with her Vuitton?) is much more refined, and shows Michael and former Soviet Union gymnast Larisa Latynina chatting on a plush coach with their Louis bags and tea.

According to a press release from Louis Vuitton, the strange pair was chosen because of "their very different backgrounds and their shared path to glory; their greatest moments and their abiding memories; their personal journeys - in the world of sport and beyond.” Larisa Latynina was the former 48-year record holder for most Olmpic medals held by a single athlete at a not so shabby 18. When Phelps beat her record by 4 medals in London, said she "…saw him swim, and I saw my record swim away. He's very talented -- no doubt about that."

No doubt indeed.
