Reason why Doo-Ri Chung is someone you should care about:
She designed a purple dress for First Lady Michelle Obama that she wore last week to the White House's state dinner for Korea. And if I've learned anything about the Obama administration it's that Michelle Obama has morphed into a sartorial goddess. Chung also attended Parsons The New School of Design and spent five years working with Geoffrey Beene. Chung launched her own Doo.Ri line in 2003.

It seems like, if you know what's good for you, you would take advantage of this designer slumming it by designing for Macy's.
The collection will be called Giambattista Valli for Impulse. Women's Wear Daily broke the news saying that while Valli's couture line "feature[s} exaggerated layers of tulle, feather-covered garments, enormous bows and wild mixes of animal prints."

Madonna and her daughter Lourdes are launching a new clothing line together called Material Girl, which is set to hit Macy's stores this August.
So what's the line about?
"I did a line for H&M, which I enjoyed, but it was a lot of work," she tells Us Weekly in an interview. "I thought, I don't want to give up the rest of my careers, so I'm not going to do my own line again. But I have a 13-year-old with tireless energy who wanted to do this. I’ve been involved in business meetings, but Lola's really doing the work. I just sit in the corner on my BlackBerry!"
She says her daughter's style "is inspired by kids she sees in hip-hop and ballet classes, European influences, bands she listens to. You could say it's in the DNA — but I could never tell her how to dress! She also comes to my photo and video shoots, pulls outfits together and gives her input to a lot of my fashion-designer friends. Whether it’s Marc Jacobs or Stella McCartney, they always ask her what she thinks."
How cool must it be to have Madonna as your mom? The cool thing about Madonna is that she portrays this risky image in public but she is actually a very caring and loving mother behind closed doors. And Lourdes seems to have her head on her shoulders so she is definitely doing something right!

Celebrities like Alexa Chung, Mary Kate Olsen and Kate Moss have all been spotted wearing these coats to brave the cold.
A celebrity favorite is the Alice & Olivia ‘Shrunken Faux-Fur Jacket’ ($385). This piece doesn’t seem like something you can wear everyday, and with it being faux fur, your best bet is to find a less expensive alternative.
Lucky for you, we found some that will have you sporting the trend just as efficiently.

Jess is also a part a commercial for Macy’s Come Together campaign, which is working with Feeding America to help families in need. She says she is deeply committed to the cause. “Hopefully this commercial will help raise money for Feeding America. It’s such an incredible charity. It’s amazing the numbers of how many people are hungry in America.”
In addition to the commercial, Jess will be throwing a dinner party to raise money for the cause. She says, “I’ll definitely throw a dinner party. It might not be as tidy as a Martha Stewart dinner party, but I will cook up some good food – Southern style!”

Stores slated to close include locations in Los Angeles, West Palm Beach, Fla., Nashville, Tenn., and St. Louis, among others
"These closings are part of our normal-course process to prune underperforming locations each year in order to maintain a healthy portfolio of stores," said Macy's Chief Executive Terry J. Lundgren in a statement.
The closures will cost roughly $65 million dollars and will affect 960 employees! The only good news to come out of it is that clearances will begin in the stores next week.
