Marchesa has become the go-to designer label for everything red carpet.

You’d be hard pressed to not find several Marchesa designs on any Hollywood red carpet, but now, us “non-famouses” can maybe steal some designer style now that Marchesa is about to launch a contemporary collection.

What that really means is, the brand will offer affordable designs.
Marchesa Designer Georgina Chapman Talks Oscar Fashion
Marchesa Designer Georgina Chapman had reason to celebrate at the 2012 Oscars. Stacy Keibler and Sandra Bullock were both wearing Marchesa and turning heads on the red carpet and Georgina Chapman’s husband is producer Harvey Weinstein who reined supreme when his produced flicks “The Artist” and “The Iron Lady” swept most of the awards.

Modamob caught up with Georgina Chapman on what it’s like seeing so many Hollywood starlets blazing the red carpet all season in her designs.

Marchesa's Fall 2012 Collection Unveiled
Marchesa debuted it’s Fall 2012 collection in an intimate style show at The Plaza’s Palm Court in New York.

The collection took inspiration from a 19th century portrait entitled “A Sour Brought to Heaven” which portrayed two gothic style angels carrying someone to heaven. The entire collection was inspired by that image and resulted in a dark yet whimsical show full of religious art and iconography.

Madonna Channels Her Inner Witch With Marchesa Dress
Uhhhh, Madonna wore a tutu upside down to the premiere of her movie “W.E.” in New York City last. Apparently she didn’t see the “this end up” sign, when she thought that wearing black tulle around her neck was a normal and/or fabulous thing to do.

The Marchesa fall 2011 gown she wore last night was what happens when Elvira and Cruella de Vil (The Glenn Close version, of course) have a love child and then that love child hid inside of Helena Bonham Carter’s closet for several years before emerging and going into hiding again in Alexander McQueen’s trashbin.

The event of the year took place in Hollywood last night and the leading ladies did not disappoint on the black carpet.

And if you haven’t caught on by now, I’m talking about the Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1 premiere.

Nikki, Ashley and Kristen were all rocking the long gowns as they should have since it was their big night.

Kristen Stewart always proves that she cleans up well on big red carpets. That or her stylist really cleans her up.

Kristen was rocking a J. Mendel Spring 2012 iris and black sequin belted column dress. J. Mendel happens to be one of Kristen’s favorite designers so it’s not shocking she opted for that dress.

Molly Sims Stuns in Her Marchesa Gown
Molly Sims, former Sports Illustrated model and known for her 5 year stint on the NBC drama "Las Vegas" just tied the knot with her producer hubby Scott Stuber.

The couple got engaged in May and got married on Saturday, September 24th, 2011 at the Frank Cafaretta Vineyard in Napa Valley, California. Molly Sims now Mrs. Stuber looked gorgeous in a white lace customized Marchesa gown.

The former model wowed in the "Isadora" dress from Marchesa's spring 2012 collection. The gown featured a drop-waist lace sheathe over a lace skirt and appliquéd lace sleeves.

Lace, lace, lace and it looked perfect. The top half of the dress was in the same vein as the Kate Middleton royal wedding gown. Sims dress was gathered at the knees for a slight mermaid effect. The backless gown featured a sheer lace-trimmed overlay at the neckline and the effect was ultra chic and ultra slimming.
Marchesa Spring 2012 Collection is Magical
Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig unveiled their Marchesa Spring 2012 collection yesterday during New York Fashion Week to a star-studded crowd.

The show took place at the luxe Palm Court of the Plaza Hotel. To no surprise, the collection was filled with beautiful gowns that you will be seeing on the red carpet this upcoming award show season.

“It’s all got a watery, magical feel,” said Chapman when speaking about the show, which seemed to be inspired by mermaids.

Viewing the collection, you will see two of my faves: feathers and sheer chiffon! There was a lot of flappery fringe looks that was also seen on the runway. The first look was modeled by Karen Elson and it was a flappery style dress with beaded fringe.
