Marchesa Designer Georgina Chapman had reason to celebrate at the 2012 Oscars. Stacy Keibler and Sandra Bullock were both wearing Marchesa and turning heads on the red carpet and Georgina Chapman’s husband is producer Harvey Weinstein who reined supreme when his produced flicks “The Artist” and “The Iron Lady” swept most of the awards.

Modamob caught up with Georgina Chapman on what it’s like seeing so many Hollywood starlets blazing the red carpet all season in her designs.

“I’m always thrilled when anyone chooses to wear Marchesa,” says Chapman, “Whether I’ve lent it to them or they’ve bought it, I’m always so flattered.”

We had to know, who wears Marchesa best? Was it Stacy Keibler in various Marchesa dresses all awards season? Or was it Lea Michele whose been a kind of unofficial muse for Marchesa since the Emmys this summer?

“It’s so hard to say,” says Chapman, “I love all the dresses for very different reasons.”

So Chapman won’t play favorites, but simply says the ideal Marchesa woman is a beautiful woman.

“I think a woman always wants to look beautiful, so just beautiful women.”

Chapman dishes on the inspiration behind the Fall 2012 Marchesa collection, “Our last collection was very much based on religious art and iconography, it was a lot of gold, a lot of whites, a lot of blues and red hues.”

Her final piece of fashion advice for any woman, whether you can afford Marchesa or not was, “Always look comfortable in what you wear and [ensure that] the dress isn’t wearing you.”
