2012 Met Gala Worst Dressed
I just assumed that anyone attending the Met Gala tonight would be dressed absolutely perfect. Boy, was I wrong.

The Met Gala is celebrating the opening of the Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations exhibition. Speaking of impossible - these outfits are a little out there.

Here is the worst dressed list from the 2012 Met Gala:

Mary Kate Olsen: I’m 50% sure that this is Mary Kate and not Ashley, regardless, ½ of the Olsen twins dressed as if she were stopping by the Met Gala on the way to a funeral. She wore a black tunic that did not accentuate any curves, and styled her hair by putting it in a messy bun.

Kirsten Dunst: Maybe she thought she won a walk on role on “Mad Men”? Dunst wore a burnt orange suit dress by Rodarte that might have been awesome for a red carpet if this was the maiden voyage of the Titanic and NOT the Met Gala! C’mon!

Johnny Depp Named a Fashion Icon by CFDA
Johnny Depp who regularly dresses like a sexy homeless person meets an oldey-timey newsie, will be honored by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) as their Fashion Icon of the year.

This is a big deal, mostly because the CFDA are like the Oscars of fashion.

Johnny Depp is being honored for his “personal and eclectic sense of style” namely his “wacky hats” and “watch chains.”

Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen: We Are Perfectionists
Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen cover the UK edition of Elle in a special double cover edition! It's basically just the same magazine printed twice but with two different covers! Which Olsen twin looks the best!? You can’t tell the difference? Me either!

The girls perfect their little pout on the cover(s) of the mag and spill all the deets on their fashion empire in the 10-page feature.

Mary Kate says running three businesses with her sister is no problem because they “basically [have] one thought process shared between two people.”
Elizabeth Olsen: I Never Borrow Mary-Kate and Ashley's Clothes
What a waste of having fashionable sisters. Break-out actress Elizabeth Olsen says she hasn’t borrowed clothes from Mary-Kate and Ashley since she was 14. If my older sisters were Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, I wouldn’t even go to sleep in anything less than a $300 t-shirt in taupe from The Row.

Anyways, Elizabeth Olsen says the reason why she can’t wear Mary-Kate and Ashley’s hand-me-downs is because she is so much bigger than them. Right, I forgot about how those Olsen twins are tiny pixie women.
Prada CEO to Work For Olsen Twins

You know that movie, “From Prada to Nada?” This is just like that.

The US President and CEO of Prada will now go work for the Olsen twins for their label The Row.

Mary-Kate told WWD that they are trying to expand the brand and decided to go with the best, so they chose Francois Kress, “He quickly became the obvious choice for us and for the brand, having experience in multiple categories which we feel is essential for growth of The Row.”
Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen: Most Influential Under 30 in Fashion
Forbes just published it’s first ever 30 Under 30: Fashion list, which honors individuals under the age of 30 that are fashions top names. Naturally, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen made the list, who at age 25 have pioneered looking professionally homeless a multi-million-dollar clothing empire.

The girls launched Stylemint.com this year and have three labels, The Row, Elizabeth + James and Olsenboye. They were also named by Vogue as the best dressed siblings of 2011. They also sold an alligator skin back pack for $39,000 from their The Row label, and doing that has got to land them on a list somewhere.
Vogue Names the Olsen Twins the Best Dressed Sisters of 2011
Apparently Vogue thinks that twin banshees in baggy clothing deserve to cover the magazine. And Anna Wintour approved it? Kidding, I actually love Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, from their dark eyeliner and straw colored hair, to their sartorial sense, these twin sisters were named the best dressed family duo by Vogue magazine for it’s Best Dressed Special Edition magazine available on newsstands November 15th.

The girls appear on the cover of the mag, in a photoshoot snapped by Craig McDean.

Coming in second place are the young Fanning sisters, Elle and Dakota. While neither of them are even 18 years old yet, they both exude a sort of runway model confidence in everything they wear. Even though Elle is only 13, she’s always dressed in Valentino, Chanel, or Marc Jacobs.
Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's $39,000 Bag Sells Out
The infamous alligator backpack that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen designed for their label, The Row is now sold out.

Why do I say infamous? Well, the backpack costs $39,000. And no I did not accidentally add an extra 0. It actually costs $39,000.

"It was the first thing that sold off the shelf," Ashley said at the Paris launch of their new handbag collection. "During our last economic crisis in the U.S., the only thing that went up was Hermes."

Barney's Fashion Director Amanda Brooks has only good things to say about the backpack and see it a “to buy” item because it's an “investment” in her eyes.
Celebs Celebrate Fashion's Night Out
Thursday night was the world-wide event, Fashion's Night Out, which was a shopping event created in 2009 by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour as a way to promote shopping and help stimulate the economy.

Basically, stores stay open later than usual and offer in-store events and giveaways to entice shoppers to go shopping at 10pm instead of 6pm while sipping on vitamin waters and munching on mini cupcakes.

Anyways, since 2009 the event has turned into a media blitz and Hollywood's finest turned out to support Fashion's Night Out. Here's where the celebs were shopping and hanging out last night.

Kim and Kourtney Kardashian: Kim and Kourt were partying at the NY branch of their Kardashian owned boutique DASH. Also in attendance was DJ Pauly D, who agreed to DJ the event for free as a wedding gift to Kim and Kris Humphries.
Selena Gomez Wants to Do a "High-End Fashion Line"
Selena Gomez wants a career in fashion. I could have told you that, show me a celebrity without a fashion line and I will give you a million dollars. That's right...a million doll hairs.

Selena already has a line for K-Mart called Dream Out Loud that she launched in 2010. She just launched the Fall 2011 collection and also models in the ads.

"I think right now, and the time that I am with my generation, I definitely feel that K-Mart is the best choice for me, because obviously, they can capture my line the way I want it and the prices can stay at a minimum," says Gomez.

But Selena says she has her sights set higher than K-Mart. "But one day, I would love to maybe do a high-end fashion line. That would be really fun."
