Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen Slammed By PETA

If there is one thing PETA loves to do (besides love animals) it's to hate on celebrities who wear fur.

Yesterday we reported that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have another stupidly expensive handbag in their Pre-Fall collection for The Row.

It’s a $16,000 fur bag and also comes in other PETA unfriendly choices like black calf-skin and slate alligator.

For starters, the fur bag looks like an extra from the set of Gremlins but apparently people like this stuff.

However, like most things involving animal fur, PETA is up in arms!

Here is PETA’s official (and very cleverly worded) attack statement against the Olsen twins.

“If it looks like a troll and acts like a troll, it's probably a Trollsen Twin—or someone wearing one of their new $16,000 totes, which are made from the fur and skins of innocent animals. What the Olsens lack in creativity, they try to make up for in shock value. Sadly, it's the foxes, calves, and alligators—who often have the fur ripped off them while they are still conscious and able to feel pain—who pay the dearest price.”

If anyone can make you feel terrible about animal cruelty and then simultaneously laugh about their calling the Olsen twins “trolls,” it’s PETA.

I don’t know what’s MORE offensive, the price or the animal skin?

Not surprisingly, fur aficionado and celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe is a huge fan of the bag, calling it “perfect.”
