Matthew Williamson Launching Affordable Collection
Great news for all the fashionistas out there that can’t really afford designer duds.

Designer Matthew Williamson is launching a collection of affordable clothes called Muse by Matthew Williamson.

The line will hit stores fall 2011.

The reason the Brit designer is launching the new affordable line is because he’s sick of all the pricing complaints.

“I’m sick of everybody saying, ‘I love it, but I can’t afford it,’” he told NYMAG.COM.

Williamson promises that the new line “will be at least half the price of our main line.”

All designers should get on this! Can you imagine an affordable collection by Karl Lagerfeld? Genius!
Matthew Williamson Arrives at H&M
The wait is over! The much-anticipated Matthew Williamson line has finally arrived at H&M!

We had reported earlier about the batch of celebrities who got to wear some pieces from the vibrant line before it hit the shelves, but today it’s your turn to pick your favorite pieces!

Of the line, Williamson says, "I wanted to create a strong urban collection fused with the brand's signature symbols and shapes. It's been fascinating to search back through my archives to isolate the most iconic pieces, then rework them for H&M."

And apparently H&M could not agree more! Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M said, "I think people will really love this collection. I love the way Matthew mixed prints in the dresses, and the color clocking of the tailoring. It's very elegant, but there are lots of things you can wear in a really relaxed way too."

Color has always been a huge trademark of Williamson's. Of the collection the designer said, "color is one of the defining aspects of my signature style. I focused on the iconic peacock motif seen across my collections to develop a palette of blues, chartreuse and emerald. The spirit of the collection is both covetable and precious."

Covetable? Precious? And affordable?? It sounds like a no brainer to us!

If you are not already outside waiting in line, head over to H&M and add a little extra dose of color to your wardrobe! We have a feeling these clothes will sell out before we even get the store.

Matthew Williamson to Design for H&M
British designer and celebrity favorite Matthew Williamson can add another notch onto his resume. He’s teaming up with the fashioable and always affordable H&M to do what they call a capsule collection.

Williamson is on board for a women’s line to debut in Summer 2009, which will launch globally in all H&M stores on April 23rd. It will be followed a couple months later by a men’s line.

H&M creative adviser Margareta van den Bosch said in a statement, "Matthew has such a good eye and a way for working with prints that he mixes up in a new way. When he combines these things, you get a very contemporary London look.”

Celebs like Rihanna , Thandie Newton, Mischa Barton, and Lindsay Lohan are already big fans of his, so now we can do the same for looks that are probably a whole lot less!
Designers Turn Artist

Today were talking about the trends for Spring 2008 and one hot look is going to be very artistic to say the least. Oscar Wilde’s quote “Life imitates art far more than art imitates life” has never made more sense than now.

Designer Christian Lacroix, Alexander McQueen and Matthew Williamson are displaying their artworks on clothing. Even Jennifer Garner is a big fan of this look.

Some of these dresses look like masterpieces and should be hanging on the walls of a museum. If you can't afford the designer gowns, no worries just ditch the canvass and start painting on a solid dress and create your very own work of art.
