Michelle Obama Wears $2k Barbara Tfank Dress to State of the Union
While Barack Obama was rattling on about tax brackets, class warfare and the 99% percent, those of us more sartorial minded viewers were trying to scope out what Michelle Obama was wearing.

J. Crew President Jenna Lyons Leaves Husband For a Woman
After being married for nine years, J.Crew creative director and president Jenna Lyons split from her husband to pursue a lesbian relationship.

According to the New York Post, the J.Crew head left Vincent Mazeau to be with "Courtney Crangi, 38, the business brains behind her brother, hip celebrity jeweler Philip Crangi."

Lyons rakes in about $5 million a year selling khakis and cashmere, and she's reportedly fighting with her estranged husband over their finances and custody of their son, Beckett.

Beckett appeared in a controversial ad with his mom this Summer, which featured her painting his toes pink. Well, I'm not actually sure who found that controversial, I'm guessing good ol' boys who saw the ad and said, "whut the hayl! No son o' mine's gon' be paintin' his feets with a woman color, I tell you what." Because, you know, pink is such an offensive hue.

Michelle Obama Talks Fashion
If we're talking fashionable first ladies, Michelle Obama is in a class of her own. I mean, Hilary Clinton was a shrewd politician but those patriotic skirt suits? Shudders. And Laura Bush... I swear she was moonlighting as an Avon lady.

For reason's unknown, Michelle Obama was talking about her fashion choices at a White House press conference. Hey what about that national Jobs Act? Nope, we wanna know what Michelle Obama wears on casual Friday.

Michelle says she doesn't care about labels, she's a fan of less expensive retailers like H&M, Gap, Talbots and Target, but would rather wear clothes that are practical.

"I have to wear what I love. I have to feel good in it. My day-to-day wardrobe choices are very practical. I'm like, 'What's the temperature?' 'Am I going to be sitting in the grass?' 'Will I be playing with kids?' Can I sit on the floor?'" says the First Lady.
Kate Middleton, JT and Gaga Make Vanity Fair's Best Dressed List

Every year Vanity Fair compiles it's list of the best dressed style icons in the world. The 72nd annual Vanity Fair best dressed list includes different categories such as "International Best-Dressed," "Best Dressed Couples" and "Fashion Originals."

Those lucky stylish stars who make the list are voted on by "fashion insiders." A Vanity Fair correspondent Amy Collins says it's no surprise that the UK's favorite new muse Kate Middleton made the international best-dressed list. Middleton's fashion claim-to-fame is because she has brought back fashion items like "hats and nude stockings," and that "she also knows how to combine clothes that are mass market [or] off-the-rack with real designer clothes," says Collins.
Kate Middleton Shows Off Tan With Tan Reiss Dress
Kate Middleton and Prince William, also known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are back from their 10-day $720,000 honeymoon.

The Royal couple met with President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama on Tuesday and to no surprise, Kate looked stunning.

The golden tan that she was sporting looked amazing; especially with that dress.

Victoria Beckham Wants to Dress Michelle Obama
Victoria Beckham knows how stylish our First Lady is, and now she wants to be one of the lucky designers who makes Michelle Obama’s gown for an event.

“I would love to dress Mrs. Obama absolutely absolutely absolutely! I just think she’s incredible and she’s a very strong woman and she’s beautiful,” she told Fox.

“I love women and I just want to make women feel good and beautiful and it’s just been a huge compliment that ladies have enjoyed wearing my dresses and they look great!

Despite being itty-bitty, Victoria says she loves dressing all different body types. “It just goes to show they can flatter women of all different shapes and sizes, all different heights, and that’s what it’s about. It’s about creating an illusion and having a great cut.”

“Seeing anyone wearing my clothes is exciting, whether it’s someone famous, a family member or a stranger,” she said. “A few weeks ago, I bumped into a woman wearing a design of mine and screamed with excitement. I’m sure she thought I was crazy.”

How adorable is Victoria?! We’re so glad she’s seemed to find her true passion in life—fashion!
Vogue Names Best Dressed of '09
Want to know who to keep your eye on as far as style goes? Vogue has just announced their list of the best dressed women of 2009, and you may be surprised by this year’s winner!

Many of the women were expected to make the list, like Emma Watson, Diane Kruger, and Leighton Meester. But it seems the mag took a few risks this year, and included some women known for their outlandish wardrobes. Case in point? Lady Gaga and British singer Beth Ditto.

Our very own First Lady made the list at number 14. And we couldn’t agree more with that choice. Her gowns throughout the year have all been stunning and timeless.

But the big winner this year was Alexa Chung! She’s known best for her now-canceled program on MTV, called It’s On With Alexa Chung.

Alexa won the top prize for her “schoolgirl meets grandma” chic and “Brit-girl abroad sense of style.”

Judges at Vogue say, “She won over the U.S. style pundits with her quirky style and kept us on side by staying true to the formula that won her our approval in the first place.”

Here are the top five best-dressed women:

1. Alexa Chung
2. Audrey Tautou
3. Sarah Jessica Parker
4. Cheryl Cole
5. Dannii Minogue

I am relieved to have a job well done and am so honored to have been chosen. This is a Thanksgiving in its truest form for me and one that I will never forget — an American dream coming true.”

The designer, who immigrated to the U.S. as a teenager, created Michelle’s one-of-a-kind sterling silver sequin dress with an abstract floral motif, accented with Bochic earrings. Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh even appreciated the beauty of the look, saying in his toast that he was “overwhelmed…by the grace and charm of the First Lady.”
