Lebanese Designer Credits Miley Cyrus For Career

You know you are sort of a big deal when a designer owes his entire career to you. When Miley Cyrus wore that beautiful Zuhair Murad gown, it took the Lebanese born designer's career to the next level.

Murad credits Miley for putting him on the radar with the big boys. Miley wore a beautiful Zuhair Murad gown to the Oscars in 2009 and things just took off after that.

“We got many calls, many e-mails, some of them just for congratulations and some of them for orders,” he tells nymag.com. “It's a very special art,” he says.

He says he loves to design clothes for “women who love fashion” and buy pieces “to be special, to be different.”

Murad is very thankful for his celebrity clients.“

Many, many, many celebrities at the same time start wearing my clothes,” he explains. “But the biggest occasion, the first one, was Miley Cyrus at the Oscars.”
