Monique Lhuillier Brings The Tropics To NYC Fashion Week

The Queen of Red Carpet gowns Monique Lhuillier unveiled her Spring 2009 collection at NYC Fashion week. Hollyscoop was front and center with one of the hottest tickets in town.

The inspiration for Lhuillier was none other than a vacation to the Bahamas. “I took a little getaway vacation to the Bahamas and it all came together the colors and just the rawness of everything.”

Unlike past collections, Lhuillier displayed a organic touch with textures, layers and sheers. “The collection feels lighter, its spring summer should be about showing great skin and if not the illusion of showing more skin.”

With so much creativity we wanted to know who Lhuillier‘s muse is? “A Modern busy lady with a wonderful life or who wants to feel special in her clothes, these clothes aren’t clothes you wear to work.”

Indeed these gowns are not for the office, as often seen on Hollywood heavyweights such as Katie Holmes, Reese Witherspoon, Hilary Swank to name a few.

In regards to constantly seeing her gowns at major Hollywood events Llulhier says, “I am so blessed to have the support of Hollywood, I am based in Los Angeles so nice to have them call me “
