Monique Lhullier’s Fall 2012 collection presented at NY Fashion Week is red-carpet ready.

The designer took a dramatic turn with black and red gowns and pantsuits that I’m sure has all of Hollywood salivating.

According to Lhuillier herself, “A lot of the pieces that you see here tonight are already on hold for the Oscars.”

The collection features dramatic and deep red hues with cut-outs, black and red lace accents and sleek body hugging silhouettes accented with beading, fur, and sparkly embroidery.

It’s still feminine but very dark and sultry, which is a change for the usually dainty and frilly designer.

Or as Lhuillier herself puts it, “It’s the same Monique, like beauty and femininity is still running through, but there’s unpredictability that’s also more mature and new for the line, and I really pushed.”

The collection drums up images of old Hollywood glamour meets a bull fight meets Jessica Rabbit meets Snow White. The collection is beautiful yet intense.

“Everything is long and lean. Long sleeves are in. Things are cut really close to the body,” says Lhuiller.

Though the collection isn’t just dresses. There’s a stunning pantsuit with gold plated sleeved and sheer cut-out. There’s another look that features black trousers and a blousy red button-down that paired with a red lip looks stunning.

Famous faces sitting in the front row include Camila Alves and Nina Dobrev, who I’m sure are a couple of those A-Listers getting a Lhullier dress for the rest of awards season.
