Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin Team Up for MAC VIVA GLAM Campaign

She’s also sharing the campaign with Ricky Martin, who is a stunning and handsome man, but does he actually wear make-up? I mean, he’s gay sure, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to wear lipstick. That’s like a homeless person trying to sell me a kitchen remodel.
Regardless, I love looking at Ricky Martin’s face and Nicki Minaj’s colorful get-ups are always an eye-full so this new campaign is fine by me.
The duo were shot by famed photographer David LaChapelle and feature Ricky holding up a giant lipstick tube like a Viking while Nicki crouches low over a bright blue motorcycle. True to form, Nicki is wearing a hot pink dress, pink wig, tiara, and those infamous hot pink Nicki Minaj lips.
I’m hoping their VIVA GLAM lipstick and lipgloss is in Nicki's signature pink color, because I have been looking high-and-low for that shade and so far everything I’ve found makes me look like an overgrown reject on “Toddlers & Tiaras” or prostitute Barbie.
And like all past Viva Glam campaigns, all proceeds from the sale of the Viva Glam lipsticks and lipgloss will benefit the MAC AIDS fund which works towards funding the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Nicki tweeted the photo to fans, “Barbz, check out my #MACVivaGlam photo w/@ricky_martin on Facebook! Lipstick’s out in Feb – buy 1 save a life!”
The last cover girl for the campaign was Lady Gaga, and with a celeb that big I guess they had to replace her with two stars: Nicki and Ricky.
Gaga’s lipstick color was a nude slightly pink color. Like I said, I’m hoping Nicki and Ricky’s color is that bright pink, but this is Nicki Minaj we’re dealing with, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was frosted silver with flecks of diamonds. That chick is so over-the-top.
Past cover-girls for the campaign include Missy Elliott, Lil Kim, Eve, Mary J. Blige, Christina Aguilera and Fergie.
This isn’t Nicki’s first collab with the MAC brand. Last year they sold a limited edition run of lipstick named after her debut album, “Pink Friday.”
Last year, Lady Gaga managed to bring in over $32 milion for the MAC AIDS fund with her campaign, let’s see if Ricky and Nicki can top that.
