Every year at the VMA’s we expect a few fashion faux pas. This isn’t the Oscars, the attendees are expected to get cray cray, but these fashion choices were just plain bad.

Katy Perry: Katy Perry walked up to the VMA’s twirling a parasol to hopefully shield herself from herself? Katy wore a pastel kimono type mini-dress by Atelier Versace with puffballs detailing and pink strappy sandals that that I’m sure were stolen from the set of Legally Blonde but am shocked to reveal that they were actually Jimmy Choo’s. The puffballs, combined with her hot pink hair made her look like a cupcake.

Miley Cyrus: Miley was wearing a backless floor length blue Roberto Cavalli gown that was animal print on the top and, wait for it, floral on the bottom. For when you can’t decide which pattern of crazy you want to go with.

Deena: Deena from the Jersey shore took a style cue from Rainbow Bright in a really tiny sparkly glitter rainbow mini-dress that made zero effort to conceal her boobs. Oh well, at least she brought some color to what the VMA’s refer to as the “black carpet.”

Kreayshawn: Nominated for the best new artist award, she surely will not be nominated for best new dressed award. Wearing a sequined dress with images of Minnie Mouse and red Nike tennis shoes, she looked dressed to give directions to Disneyland rather than accept a VMA.

Nikki Minaj: Nicki was dressed like an anime cartoon character, so basically business as usual for Nicki. Minaj wore something I can’t even describe as a dress. It had large protruding triangle pieces, a tail, and she wore a mask over the bottom half of her face. If she’s trying to out-crazy Lady Gaga, she’s winning.

Bonnie McKee: okay, I don’t even know who this person is, but it is necessary that I mention her. She’s apparently a singer and songwriter and has written lots of hits for artists like Rihanna and Britney Spears, but we must discuss her outfit. She has orange hair, was wearing a nude romper that was skin tight and laced up on the top. The outfit would have made sense 30 years ago and paired with some roller skates. Oh, she was also wearing fingerless gloves and a chains draped around her waist.
