We’ve been hearing about Nicole Richie’s line for Macy’s for month, and it’s finally here. I know you all were waiting on the edge of your seats for it, so lets get into it.
The full look book for her Nicole Richie for Macy’s Impulse was released online today, and it’s not very impressive. I can’t picture Nicole wearing 95% of these clothes.
Nicole told the HuffPost that the “eclectic” line was meant to be masculine mixed with feminine, but really, its just bad mixed with worse.
"I mixed some of the faux leathers with lace and chiffon and I played a lot with masculine mixed with feminine... We were definitely focusing on subtle contrasts and mixing and matching to make a collection extremely eclectic."
There’s a lot of oversized pleasant blouses, some printed dresses and skirts and a lot of leather. The half leather, half faux fur jacket isn’t impressive. Imagine a bear wearing a leather vest—that pretty much sums it up.
The collection isn’t entirely hopeless though, there’s a pair of cute leather pants, a simple, yet chic black and white sweater and a cute beige blazer. And that’s about it.
It’s a shame that the collection doesn’t reflect more of Nicole’s style. She’s always dressed so well, her fans want to dress like her, and this collection just doesn’t capture that.
