Olivia Palermo Launching Lifestyle Website Followed By Fashion Line
September 30, 2011 by: MADISON VANDERBERG

Remember Olivia Palermo? I do, but that's only because I religiously watched the Whitney Port spin-off of "The Hills" called "The City." Let me jog your memory, Olivia was the girl from "The City" that wasn't Whitney Port (obviously duh), she was also not the Audrina Patridge look-a-like with the thick bangs and she also wasn't the skinny one who "modeled." It's Olivia Palermo, you guys, she fake worked at Diane von Furstenberg with Whitney during season 1 and then fake worked at Elle with Whitney again! She was also touted by Marie Claire UK as "The Most Fashionable Girl in the World," so y'all better listen up.
Anyways, this NY socialite is launching her fashion site next week, OliviaPalermo.com, a blog that will be along the same lines as Lauren Conrad's thebeautydepartment.com and Gwyneth Paltrow's goop.com.
"It will be more of a lifestyle blog for sure," Palermo tells Fashionista.com, "I'll touch on my favorite designers and trends I see on the street - like snaps of really cool girls I see in Tokyo. Or if there's a boutique in St. Tropez or BArcelona that I like and want to revisit. It will be a little bit of everything."
While Palermo's blog may be filled with "cool girls" from Tokyo, she says her own personal style icons include Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and maybe even a little Gene Kelly.
"My personal style is classic, eclectic in a way," she tells FabSugar, "I love accessories and playing [with] color...and menswear. I love, love menswear. I have a little bit of tomboy in me."
Palermo has collected a team of writers for her new site, including a former colleague from ELLE and plans to write for the site herself, including a "editor's letter" once a month. She also wants to be able to sell clothes on her site as well, "With the rise in e-commerce, I can give young designers even more of an advantage [when I feature them on my site]. We'll put a lot of young emerging designers on the site because that's important to me."
But the fashion website is just the first step, she has plans to design real clothes and not just talk about them on the internet.
"I want to build my fashion company the proper way, in time. I can wait a little bit, but once I settle down a bit more and create a line it will most likely be evening wear," says the budding designer.
