Turn every street into your own personal catwalk with these great tips from style expert George Kotsiopoulos:
Who was your best dressed nominee of the awards show season?
“Two of my favorites are Mila Kunis and Emma Stone, because I think they’re super cool and talented girls – the full package. As newcomers, they’ve both been shining and becoming potential fashion powerhouses.”
What’s the key to getting red carpet ready?
“There are a lot of tips and tricks that I recommend for celebrities to avoid fashion disaster on the red carpet.”
--Avoid slipping and tripping by scuffing up those new stiletto soles ahead of time with a razor blade or box cutter.
--There’s lots of talking on the carpet, so keep your smile sparkling and your mouth fresh with great tasting gum in between interviews. I like Trident Vitality – it’s the new, stylish “IT” gum in Hollywood this year. It’s in some of the hottest Oscar lounges, so a lot of celebs might be carrying it.
--It’s important to keep your skin from getting too shiny on the red carpet. Carry blotting tissues to gently remove excess oil and shine. Blotting tissues are also great to put away that gum for your next interview!
Who do you think has the worst sense of style when it comes to the red carpet and fashion?
Christina Aguilera has been looking not so cute lately, and of course, Helena Bonham Carter is looking like a deranged Scarlett O’Hara.
What’s a fashion don't?
Avoid wrinkly fabrics when considering dresses - don’t just try them on when you’re standing up. Sit down in them to see if the stay smooth and keep their shape. There’s usually a long limo ride before you to get to the red carpet and wrinkly looks messy and unflattering on anyone.

These four ladies were the real winners at the Oscars this year. Everyone will remember that they rocked the red carpet in their amazing Oscar gowns.
Here's my pick for the best dressed ladies of the Oscars this year.
- Halle Berry- My jaw dropped when I saw Halle Berry in her beautiful Marchesa gown. That dress was so beautiful and it looked especially good on Halle because of her sexy body.
- Sandra Bullock- I love that Sandra came to the Oscars in a RED Vera Wang gown. The dress looked great on her and she looked like she was in a great mood despite all the drama that’s happened since last year.
- Natalie Portman- How adorable did Natalie Portman look in her plum colored Rodarte gown? Natalie matched her dress with fringed earrings and also Jimmy Choo ‘Macy’ satin sandals. However, her best accessory was her beautiful smile!
- Jennifer Lawrence- Not a lot of people were familiar with blonde bombshell Jennifer Lawrence before she showed up to the red carpet at the Oscars wearing a sexy red Calvin Klein gown. It’s safe to say Oscar nominee got the attention of a lot of men and is now a household name. Congrats Jennifer, all it took was a sexy red gown!

Oscar fashion is very important and unfortunately the red carpet this year had one too many fashion atrocities.
There were definitely more than the six I picked, but these ladies were the worst in my opinion.
- Nicole Kidman- You would think Dior Couture would look a bit nicer than this, right? Nicole told Hollyscoop that her daughter Sunday Rose picked out her outfit, which was cute, but clearly a mistake.
- Marisa Tomei- Oh where to begin! The 1950 couture Charles James dress from Lily et Cie looked as if an amateur seamstress worked on the bottom part on to the dress last minute. And her dress wasn't the only thing that looked bad, her hair was pretty bad too. It was definitely an off-day for Marisa Tomei.
- Scarlett Johansson- It's a good thing Scarlett is beautiful because this Dolce & Gabanna dress was wrong, wrong, wrong. It looked as if her black underwear and bra were showing with in that dress. Her stylist should be fired immediately!
- Michelle Williams- That Chanel Haute Couture gown that Michelle wore on the carpet was not the best dress for her because it was not form fitting. She looked a bit too boyish and the dress was a bit too loose on her. She could have had someone taken it in a little more to show off her figure.
- Helena Bonham Carter- I have to admit, Helena toned it down a lot for the Oscars, but unfortunately still made it on the worst dressed list. She told Hollyscoop that she wore the dress because the bustle cover her big butt.
- Cate Blanchett- Cate looked as if she was on the set of one of the period pieces she’s always filming. The Givenchy Haute Couture gown was a big flop, but her hair and makeup looked great!

New mom Penelope Cruz looked absolutely radiant in her sparkling red L'wren Scott dress at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards.
Penelope just gave birth to a beautiful baby boy one month ago and she's already in tiptop shape. Sure, she most likely had to wear some Spanx with the dress, but she showed off her curves in just the right places.
Skipping the Oscars wasn't an option an her sexy hubby, Javier Bardem, is nominated for Best Actor for 'Biutiful.'
The first time parents seemed to be happy to be out, holding hands and chatting with friends.
Need to shed a couple of pounds before a special occasion? Dr. Stork tells Hollyscoop how you can lose 5 pounds in 2 weeks:
"I try not to focus on numbers per se. But I do have some great tips from my new book The Lean Belly Prescription: Drink a glass of ice water before every meal and you may eat 20% fewer calories at that meal. And anytime you have the urge for a soda or any type of "sugar" water, drink a glass of ice water with a freshly squeezed lemon, lime, or orange or unsweetened iced tea. Teach your body how to crave things that are good for it."

- The adorable and pregnant Natalie Portman, who arrived late to the red carpet wore a plum colored Rodarte gown for her big night. The dress will look fabulous as she goes on stage to accept her award for Best Actress.
- Scarlett Johansson is one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood so it’s almost impossible for her to look bad on a red carpet, but the dress she wore to the Oscars was a big FAIL! She rocked a one-of-a-kind dress by Dolce & Gabbana and thankfully she is so beautiful that most people spend their time staring at her face rather than that hideous dress she was wearing.
- Penelope Cruz made her first public red carpet appearance after giving birth to her son Leo. A glowing Cruz wore a fiery-toned, sequined L'Wren Scott gown and showed the world that she’s already lost her baby weight.

The Oscar nominee wore a navy gown by L'Wren Scott, but the emerald jewels were what got all the attention.
She was sporting a 575 diamonds and 30.75 carat carved emerald haute joaillerie secret watch bracelet worth $1.025 million. Say it with me…WOW!
That's not it! What really got my attention was the beautiful emerald necklace. Too bad the neckline on the dress was so high it was almost distracting. She would have looked so much better if she wore a dress with a plunging neckline to show off those amazing jewels.
What did you guys think of Amy's overall look? Love it or hate it?

This year’s ceremony brought out all the A-listers, and you might be surprised to hear that there weren’t that many fashion misses! The guys looked great for the most part, but we’ll get to them later. We know you’re dying to hear about the ladies! And stunning they were this year.
Many took risks, which we love in fashion. From Natalie Portman’s bubblegum pink dress, to Sarah Jessica Parker’s “barely mint” number, to Miley Cyrus looking all grown up in her glitzy gown, these ladies did not disappoint.
-- We’ll begin with the biggest trend of the night, which was white. So many of our favorite gals opted to lighten up instead of going with the traditional black.
Miley Cyrus was one of the first down the carpet, dazzling in a sparkly Zuhair Murad gown. She looked incredibly grown up in the bejeweled tiered silver and sapphire gown.
Taraji P. Henson up for Best Supporting Actress for Benjamin Button, wowed in a gorgeous Roberto Cavalli ivory gown with a diamond necklace that certainly made a statement.
Keeping with the white trend was Best Actress nominee Anne Hathaway who never disappoints. She wore a ivory sparkly strapless Armani Prive dress adorned with thousands of large circular sequins. She looked like the epitome of elegance.
Supporting actress nominee Penelope Cruz got the white memo, and showed up in a vintage cream-colored Valmain gown that she said she had seen eight years prior. Good thing the dress waited around for her, because she looked ravishing!
Sarah Jessica Parker referred to her Dior Haute Couture gown as “barely mint” and it “entirely” looked amazing. It was very princess-ey with the A-line shape, but if anyone can pull that off, it’s Sarah. Or was that Carrie Bradshaw?
Viola Davis, nominated for Doubt, looked stunning in her gold halter Reem Acra gown with a very plunging neckline. Va-va-voom!
Marion Cotillard looked super cute in a blue sequined dress that definitely made her stand out on the carpet.
Marisa Tomei looked amazing in a silver-toned Versace dress.
And Evan Rachel Wood looked so so elegant in an Elie Saab ivory satin gown with a timeless swept-up hairdo.
Angelina Jolie is in a category of her own as usual. Even though she showed up in a “safe” black Elie Saab strapless gown, she popped her look with piercing green-jeweled earrings by Lorraine Schwartz.
And lastly, let’s talk about the risk takers! Someone who loves to take risks…Heidi Klum! You could have spotted her from a mile away with her asymmetrical constructed Roland Mouret coral gown with a massive slit up to the knee. And newcomer Frieda Pinto certainly made a statement with her royal blue John Galliano Bollywood-inspired one-shoulder gown. She may get some flack from the fashion community for rocking this look, but it definitely speaks to who she is and her culture.
But only one lady can win best dressed! And this award has to go to Kate Winslet, who looked stunning in a steel gray Atelier Vyes Saint Laurent by Stefano Pilati gown. She not only looked age appropriate, but so different than anyone on the carpet, which is a tough task to manage. The one shoulder gown featured a black beaded lace overlay on one side, making the dress multi-dimensional.

We’re talking about Amy Adams and Amanda Seyfried, who both chose red, which is a tough thing to pull off on the red carpet, unless you’re Nicole Kidman.
Amy’s Carolina Herrera dress was just boring, and was so matchy-matchy with her ginger locks. Her fun beaded Roberto Cavalli choker made up for the ensemble a little bit though, and added color.
Amanda Seyfried looked all wrong in her bright red gown complete with a huge bow in the front that looked bigger than she did. She sort of got lost in the look.
The only one who disappointed in white who really disappointed us was Jessica Biel. She can get away with it because it’s not necessarily her night, but we expected a little more from her since she always looks timeless. The big poofy tier hanging off her Prada dress, combined with messy hair and black shoes, really did her in as a fashion miss.
And the last fashion miss might surprise you! It was Beyonce, who wore a form-fitting mermaid style black strapless gown with gold graphic detailing. We’re used to Beyonce stepping on the red carpet with no holds-bar glam, and this just didn’t represent her star quality.
There are too many others to mention! But to summarize, here’s Hollyscoop’s take on the fashion hits and misses from the Oscars red carpet!

On Friday, Debra Messing visited the Patrick Melville Salon & Spa Oscar retreat at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills for the Oscar Experience lounge.
This suite also showcased Hearts on Fire diamonds, whose fans include Lindsay Lohan and Kate Beckinsale.
Kate was gifted the one of a kind “Ceremonious Bangle” bracelet that you may see her wearing to the Oscars ceremony, depending on her chosen dress.
Lindsay also left the lounge with a bagful of Belegenza, Sebastian hair products and Café Bustelo coffee. On Saturday, a solo Aimee Teegarden (Friday Night Lights) enjoyed a relaxation treatment on the outside deck and Nolan Funk, star of Spectacular!, who is nipping at Zac Ephrons heels for reigning teen heartthrob, posed for pictures with his Melville and Belegenza gift bags
A few miles down the road at SLS Hotel the GBK gifting suite was in full affect with a variety of vendors treating celebs to everything from spa treatments to vacation packages and even plastic surgery.
The office of Dr. Chiu, Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, gave away a year of monthly facials to celeb fans that include Paula Abdul, who visited the lounge on Friday.
AnnaLynne McCord enjoyed a spa treatment Saturday afternoon while her 90210 co-star Adam Gregory arrived with a group of his buddies, who went straight to the bar where they grabbed cocktails before hitting the rooms, each themed with a different nominated film.
For those guests watching their waistlines this awards season, samples of Amazon Thunder, an organic Acai berry juice from Brazil were available.
Comedic actresses Jennifer Coolidge (Legally Blonde) and Kate Flannery (The Office) made their way through the GBK rooms where one of Jennifer’s favorite items was the new Senseo single serve coffee maker.
Cheetah girl, Kiely Williams, was gifted with Revitalash products and a gift certificate for body contouring from Universal Contour Wrap, who also gifted Paula Abdul and is scheduled to wrap Janet Jackson at her home next week.
Kiely made out like a bandit, leaving with a duffel sized bag of swag. Madeline Zima of Californication said her favorite item at GBK was the gold clutch purse she got from Emre New York, which she wore immediately that evening to the TAG the World charity event.
No one made out better than Tila Tequila though, who told Hollyscoop that the best swag she got this weekend was a trip to the Bahamas from yet another gifting suite. All of this was to celebrate the Oscars airing Sunday night.

This year there will be no recipient of the million dollar encrusted shoe. We’re sure no woman would turn them down, but the company feels the current economic crisis of the world overshadows the need for the gimmick this year.
Weitzman himself says, "We very seriously took into account the current economic situation and what is considered appropriate in the world of fashion today, and we felt this was not a year to be extravagant."
But he’s not pulling out of the Oscar festivities altogether. Weitzman still has his line of Red Carpet Collection shoes which many stars will reportedly be sporting this Sunday and he's hosting their 8th annual styling suite
We think this is a very responsible move on the designer’s part. It’s hard for Hollywood stars to take a step back out of their bubbles to see how the rest of the world is doing. And although we know there will still be an ample amount of glitz at the Oscars, it’s being toned down to suit the state of the rest of the country.
But we hope this is just a one-time thing! We love seeing the creations Stuart Weitzman comes up with every year!
