Prada CEO to Work For Olsen Twins
You know that movie, “From Prada to Nada?” This is just like that.

The US President and CEO of Prada will now go work for the Olsen twins for their label The Row.

Mary-Kate told WWD that they are trying to expand the brand and decided to go with the best, so they chose Francois Kress, “He quickly became the obvious choice for us and for the brand, having experience in multiple categories which we feel is essential for growth of The Row.”
Prada Recruits A-Listers For Runway Show
Adrien Brody, William Defoe, Gary Oldman, Emile Hirsch and Evan Rachel Wood’s new fiancé Jamie Bell, all ditched the glamour of Hollywood this weekend to head to Milan for a Prada’s menswear show. No this wasn't a weird fashion version of a male bonding trip, these guys all modeled the collection themselves.

Instead of parading around the actual red-carpet at this Sunday’s Golden Globes, all these dudes were stomping down Prada’s faux red carpet in a Hollywood meets fashion runway show.

Spiderman Turns Prada Model
Spiderman has turned into a model!

The former Spiderman star is now the face of Prada’s fall/winter 2011 ad campaign.

David Sims photographed Tobey Maguire for the ad campaign and although I was really surprised that they would pick Tobey as the face of the brand I must admit that he did pretty good.
Stripes Move to Handbags
Stripes always make a comeback during the summer season. And as much as I love them, I hate the fact that it makes me look fat. And if it makes me look fat, chances are it does the same to you.

It’s something about those lines that makes us look wider than we actually are in real life.

So this season I’ve decided to save the stripes for my bags. The spring 2011 runway was filled with striped bags.

They’re going to be huge this season and whether the lines are going horizontal or vertical, it’s not going affect the way we look or feel. Sold.

Jill Sander, Kate Spade, Prada and Bloomindales have some great bags that will sure spice up your simple outfit.
Stay Away From Prada Shoes
We all might wanna stay clear of Prada shoes next season because it seems like they are not that reliable.

During the Prada fashion show in Milan, many models took a stumble because the shoes were just a bit outrageous.

Shoes Get Complicated

Let’s admit it, shoes are getting a bit complicated these days. In Milan we saw a mixture of looks, yet they are all very similar with the intricate details.

From Roberto Cavalli booties with the satin mix with embroideries to the Gucci studded boots it’s safe to say that it's less about the clothing and more about the shoes.

Prada went a little extreme with it’s own version of the gladiator boots to patent leather brown shoes. Lets admit it, couture or not they are a bit extreme. Would you wear any of these shoes in your local neighborhood?

Milan Fashion Week Into Fabrics?

Milan Fashion week is in full swing and the designers are making their marks with cool fabrics. Designer Cristina Ortiz incorporated a lot of silk for the Salvatore Ferragamo Fall 2008 collection. Our favorite items were the long silk gowns such as the purple number featured above.

While SF was displaying silk, Giorgio Armani was playing with Velvet. Most of his collection such as the waistcoats, evening gowns, knee length skirts and even men’s suits featured the fabric.

Meanwhile, Miuccia Prada is doing good for the lace industry by sending the mills into a frantic overdrive. After her show Prada revealed that she went wild with the lace. "I thought using a little bit here and there is tacky, so we've had all Switzerland working on couture lace. They're in shock."

In the end our favorite was designer Christopher Bailey’s creation for Burberry with the metallic thick materials, which will catch anyone’s attention in a crowd. With all this fabric talk in mind, which one would you choose?
Jourdan Dunn Walks Prada Runway

Believe it or not Prada has not had a black model walk its runway since the 90's. Naomi Campbell walked the catwalk for the fashion label in the 90's.

Jourdan Dunn will be the first black model to walk the runway since Campbell.

I don't know whether to say congrats to Jourdan or shame on Prada.
