Rachel Bilson to Launch Shoe Collection With Steve Madden

If you, like me, buy your clothes at Target and have no idea what a beachmint or shoemint is...let me explain. Beachmint.com is this e-commerce company that launched a year ago where you can register for an account that allows you to shop online for celebrity endorsed fashion goods at a fixed price. They currently have a style and jewelry site and a skincare line on the way. More on beachmint later.
So Rachel Bilson will team up with her stylist Nicole Chavez to launch a shoe collection with Steve Madden. The website says that "this debut collection will exude Rachel's signature style and Nicole's fashion expertise, and will embody Steve's extraordinary craftsmanship and design."
They say the collection will go online just in time for the 2011 Holidays and all shoes will be available at a fixed price of $79.99.
Rachel told Women's Wear Daily, "I loved the idea of designing really cute shoes that are affordable and accessible. The whole idea behind the BeachMint brand makes the online shopping experience so personal."
Rachel did work on a collaboration with DKNY jeans, but this will be her first turn as an "actress turned shoe designer."
The Beachmint concept first launched jewelmint.com a year ago. Jewelmint is a collaboration between Kate Bosworth and celeb stylist Cher Coulter. Basically, you sign up for an account online, the site gauges your own personal style (through online quizzes?) and then offers pieces that they think you would enjoy. And everything is at a fixed priced.
Then they launched Stylemint.com which is a website that sells t-shirts that are designed by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. This site also requires that you sign up for an account, the site then says "hey, based on your past purchases I think you would like this t-shirt" and then you buy said t-shirt and tell your friends, "this white tee was designed by The Olsen twins." All the shirts on this site cost $29.99.
Now, at the end of this month they will launch Beautymint.com which will sell a monthly anti-aging skincare line designed by Jessica Simpson and celebrity aesthetician Nerida Joy. Beautymint.com has a similar concept as well, fixed price, skincare catered to your needs, and celebrity endorsement.
