Reese Witherspoon Modeling for Swedish Retailer

Reese Witherspoon is the new face of a Swedish clothing company.

Woops, I read "Swedish" "new face" and "Reese Witherspoon" and immediately assumed IKEA. Reese Witherspoon is the new face of IKEA! And that's how weird and highly specific rumors are started.

But no, Reese with be modeling for the Swedish clothing company Lindex for their Fall 2011 ad campaign called "California Denim." The clothing company boasts many 70's inspired denim pieces, knit tops, sweaters, hats, ruffled tops, and vests. The brand suits Reese's personal style which she describes as "casual, simple and with lots of color."

Of the collaboration, Reese has said, "The collection fits my lifestyle because I think it's sophisticated enough to go to a business meeting but also casual enough to be at home with your family."

The clothes are actually really cute, it has a mature vibe without seeming "old-lady." You know what I'm talking about, like JC Penney "old-lady" clothes, like cardigans with brooches? *shudders* But Lindex is not that!

"I have always loved denim and knitted garments which can be mixed and matched. Lindex' fashion suits my style perfectly and I am very pleased to be a model for the new collection" says Reese.

The brand's director of marketing, Johan Hallin says, "Reese Witherspoon is truly the best possible model for the launch of our new concept - Get the Look. She also personifies the Lindex brand in a good way. She is positive, warm and full of energy and she has a fantastic ability to combine a carefree style with Hollywood glamour. Reese presents this autumn's fashion collection, inspired from California, perfectly."

In a behind the scenes video from the photoshoot, Reese spills her fashion secrets. "The one secret about fashion that every woman should know is, learn what looks good on you." I wish I had known that during my knit-pancho phase in high school. Why didn't I know I looked homeless in those things?

Reese is also the Global Ambassador for Avon, and I'm assuming that being a Global Ambassador is like the Olympics of endorsement deals.

Other celebs who traveled overseas to endorse foreign brands. Katie Holmes modeled for Philippine fashion company Kamiseta earlier this year. Eva Mendes also had a turn as a foreign catalog model for European brand Peek and Cloppenburg. Scarlett Johansson also stepped in front the lens for the ad campaign for Spanish retailer, Mango.
