I’m kidding, but not about the fashion part, just about the tattoo part.
Rihanna is executive producing a show for the UK where she scours Britain for the next generation of undiscovered designers, the host will be Nicola Roberts from pop band Girls Aloud.
Thank goodness its not airing in the US. With “Project Runway” and now this new show “Fashion Star” coming out, I really don’t think we have room for more shows about “undiscovered designers.” Now, undiscovered singers, that is a whole other thing we can definitely get behind. That market is definitely not oversaturated at all! America loves singing shows, why doesn’t Rihanna launch one of those? Does Simon Cowell own the concept? Probably.
Over the course of 10 weeks, the contestants will fight to get to the final task, which gives one designer the chance to dress Rihanna for her Wireless performance in Hyde Park in July.
“I’ve always had a great love of fashion,” says Rihanna, “It’s a constant source of inspiration in my life, and is a big reason why I’ve grown into the person and artist I am today.”
Rihanna did launch a capsule collection for Armani, so she knows everything about fashion, you guys. Throwing your name on a label is basically the same thing as 5 years of design school anyways.
“I am excited to follow the journey of our aspiring contestants and see how their individuality influences their efforts during the source of the show,” says Rihanna.
