Versace Returning to the Couture Catwalk
Donatella Versace is bringing Versace couture back to the runway with two shows at Paris' Ritz Hotel in July.

That location holds a special place in the designers heart as it was the site of her brother Gianni's last runway show in 1997 before his death, as well as many other Atelier Versace shows until the line was suspended in 2004.
Alexander McQueen Fall 2012 Collection: Bigger is Better
Alexander McQueen’s Fall 2012 collection, helmed by Sarah Burton was anything but clothes, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Also, since when has an Alexander McQueen collection actually made anything that was “ready-to-wear,” it’s the art and the beauty of fashion that makes us so fascinated with Alexander McQueen.

The show featured a gradual incline from bizarre to absolutely absurd and it was all delightful. While Lee Alexander McQueen celebrity a kind of beauty in misery, Sarah Burton attempted to morph that idea into something that showcased a more “beautiful future, positivity, [and] optimism.”

A Train Rides Through The Louis Vuitton Fall 2012 Show
All aboard Louis Vuitton Express! No seriously, head designed Marc Jacobs commissioned a train for the LV Fall 2012 showcase.

Models hopped off the train and stomped down the runway, each girl was accompanied by an old-fashioned porter to carry her luggage, this is a LV show after all, where luggage is arguably more important than clothes.

Kanye West Redeems Himself With Fall 2012 Collection During Paris Fashion Week
Remember when Kanye West announced he was a “designer” and then he debuted his Spring/Summer 2012 collection and it was so bad and looked like space clothes that were tailored by a blind child with no hands? Yeah, well, his Fall 2012 collection is WAAYY better.

Kanye hasn’t fully cemented himself amongst fashion elite, but his sophomore collection at Paris Fashion Week was a lot better than expected.

The main criticism for his last collection was that the clothes didn’t fit the models. No one could say that about THIS collection.

Paris Fashion Week: Valentino Fall 2012
Can I get MORE leather in this Valentino collection? Nope, there's already too much? Ok. Leather was the theme of the night. The show opened with 12 pieces in black matte leather that looked straight out of a Vampire movie, “Underworld” maybe?

The rest of the collection unraveled around a chic-gothic-romance look with plenty of scalloped edges, glitter embellishment, delicate lace and evening gowns that stop at the ankle. The collection revamped a kind of old-school needlepoint and tapestry theme, which reminded us of luxurious handmade items.

Paris Fashion Week: Chanel Fall Ready-to-Wear 2012
Karl Lagerfeld presented an especially icy Fall 2012 Chanel collection. Models like Cara Delevingne and Miranda Kerr stomped out down the runway, emerging from a sort of crystal ice cave and a ground covered to look like snow.

A good portion of the collection was a reinvention of the traditional tweed boucle suit. Hoods were added and tweed jackets were turned into jacquard parkas with peplum hips and paired with straight-legged tweed slacks to reinvigorate the traditional suit silhouette.

Paris Fashion Week: Christian Dior Fall 2012-2013
Paris Fashion Week is well underway and Christian Dior showed a spotless and nearly perfect collection that lived up to the brands legacy.

However, this Ready-To-Wear collection showed a more wearable side to the brand, thanks in part to designer Bill Gaytten, who showed his second collection with the brand since the dreaded Galliano scandal a year ago.

Paris Fashion Week: Balenciaga Fall 2012 Collection Unveiled
Balenciaga kicks off Paris Fall 2012 Fashion Week with a bizarre collection that I highly doubt we’re going to see much of on the red carpet, except for maybe by Lady Gaga.

Even though famous faces like Kristen Stewart and Salma Hayek showed up for the runway show that took place on the 27th floor of an office tower in a Parisian business complex, the entire collection wasn't wow-worthy.

Milan Fashion Week: Versace Fall 2012
Donatella Versace hit the right notes with her stylish and moody Fall 2012 collection for Versace.

The collection was dark, heavy, romantic and gothic; full of leather, velour, studs and religious iconography. The models marched down the catwalk in velvet coats, halter dresses, lots of above-the-knee slinky dresses, throat-tight coat dresses and corsets that looked like a coat of armor.

Milan Fashion Week - Giorgio Armani Fall 2012
As we gear up for Paris Fashion week, o la la, let's take a look at one of the last shows during Milan Fashion Week, Giorgio Armani Fall 2012.

It is just days after the Oscars and the Giorgio Armani Fall 2012 show is surprisingly absent of any red carpet looks. Armani himself called the show “Rockabilly,” but rather the show was a history lesson in menswear.
