Only two fashion names have been included in the annual 2012 Time 100 Poll, and those two people are Sarah Burton and Spanx founder Sara Blakely.

Yep, the new creative director of Alexander McQueen is being mentioned in the same breath as the chick who created underwear that keeps your muffin top in check.

The annual Time list charts the world's most influential people, with categories such as: Artists & Entertainers, Leaders and Revolutionaries and Heroes & Icons.

Sarah Burton also designed the royal wedding dress for Kate Middleton last year.

Sarah Jessica Parker told Time that Burton was given the challenging task of creating “a royal wedding dress that could never live up to the impossible dream, but it did.”

Spanx creator Sara Blakely is an overnight success, thanks to creating what would turn out to be all womens' best friend.

The Time 100 Gala will take place on April 24, at the Lincoln Center in New York with performances from Rihanna and a speech from US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton.

Other famous faces that made the list include Rihanna, Tim Tebow, Chelsea Handler, Adele, and actresses like Viola Davis, Jessica Chastain, Tilda Swinton and Claire Danes.
