Glee Gets Fashionable with Sarah Jessica Parker
Glee is trying up the volume in a new way: FASHION.

The current season is getting a whole lot more glossy and editorial this season with the guest appearance of Sarah Jessica Parker as the editor of Vogue.com. The actual magazine/Bible even helped with the show’s costuming highlighting pieces by Prabal Gurung, Altuzarra, Belstaff, and Fendi. Drool.

The context of all this? Since graduating from high school and its glee club New Directions, tenor diva Kurt (played by Chris Colfer) has moved to New York City to pursue his dreams.

In the episode, Kurt goes into the office for an internship interview with Isabelle Wright (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) and it’s a perfect fit for his character who often stood out in the pedestrian locker halls at his middle America school where he’d routinely express himself through over-the-top and sometimes self-made clothing.

In an exclusive video clip over at the real Vogue.com (also at the end of this post), you can catch a glimpse of the former Sex and the City star in action, but don’t expect to see her reprising the same Jimmy Choo wearing style.

“It’s not like Carrie Bradshaw,” Sarah quickly dismissed of her Glee character’s look. “It’s fashion, but it’s not crazy and eccentric. We’re doing very strong, simple shifts. It’s sexy, hard, and facilitative.”

Sarah will introduce the new character’s multi-episode arc—and the clothes along for the runway ride—this Thursday on Fox.
