First Look as Anna Sophia Robb as Young Carrie Bradshaw
“The Carrie Diaries” is the most hotly anticipated new CW show, because all us die-hard “Sex and the City” fans want to know what makes a young Carrie Bradshaw tick. Who were her gal pals before Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha? Did she love Jimmy Choos as a 16-year-old? Did she write a sex column for the high-school paper? Ew.

Anyways, for now, here are the first photos of young actress Anna Sophia Robb in what might be her “Carrie Bradshaw” wardrobe. She’s costumed by Erica Damon from “Gossip Girl” so we’re expecting greatness.

In one photos she’s wearing a giant blue hoodie, blue denim dress, crimped hair and ugg boots. If I do my math correctly, Carrie Bradshaw was a teen during the early 80’s, and Ugg boots didn’t become a trend until the late 90’s, so uhmmm, these photos are whack. However, that crimped hair is super 80’s and we love it!

In another photo she’s got a backpack, green army navy jacket, jeans and boots, but I still think those are just her “between takes” clothes. However, the last photo shows the actress in a large white cardigan, a pastel scarf and jeans and whether or not it’s her wardrobe for the show, I could see a young Carrie wearing this as a kind of “low-key” ensemble.

However, these pics aren’t wowing me. Carrie Bradshaw wore pearls to bed. Carrie Bradshaw wore crop tops to a fashion show like it was normal. Carrie Bradshaw wore a tutu to a club and wasn’t apologizing for it. Maybe it took Carrie all of her twenties to become the fashion icon we know and love.

You can also glimpse the set of the home of young Carrie, which is supposed to be Carrie’s Castlebury, Connecticut home but is actually just a house in Queens.

But the coolest part is that Sarah Jessica Parker sent Anna Sophia a hand written letter congratulating her on the role. So sweet!

Anna Sophia told US Weekly "She sent me a letter! I wrote her one back, too. She was just very encouraging about it all. It was really cool!"
