Hot off the heels of the announcement that the Spice Girls are launching a musical, the former UK girlbanders are auctioning off their now infamous Spice Girls costumes to support the Save the Children charity.

Later this year, Sporty, Posh, Scary, Baby, and Ginger will do away with many of their iconic stage pieces at the Children in Need gala.

“I’ve got all my costumes still,” says Victoria, “I can’t wait for Harper to grow a little so she can have some.”

Is that why the Beckham’s have so many kids? Victoria kept trying for a girl because she had a closet full of size 0 strapless dresses she wanted to get rid of?

Victoria also added, “the rest I’d like to put up for charity, I think it would be a fantastic thing to do. Everything we did at the time was great, it really was.”

The auction will include Emma (Baby Spice) Bunton’s pretty babydoll dresses, Mel C’s (Sport Spice) tracksuits and Mel B’s (Scary Spice) leopard print catsuits.

And of course, no Spice Girls memorabilia is complete without those towering platform tennis shoes they used to wear that caused so many young Spice Girls fans to sprain their ankles between the years 1996-1998.

Geri Halliwell remembers how Victoria refused to wear those tall shoes, “She hated them –she wouldn’t wear them.”

Victoria remembers, “No, I didn’t, no really…I just didn’t want to wear them myself.”
