Believe it or not, but London raised Stella McCartney will do a one-off collection in February 2012 at London Fashion week after a decade of showing exclusively at Paris Fashion Week.

The London show will be at the Somerset House and is being billed as a “special fashion presentation” that is supposed to coincide with her “World Of Stella” collection at Selfridges, a new fragrance launch, and the opening of a second Stella McCartney store in London.

Her mainline collection will be held as usual in Paris later in the month. Paris, Milan, and New York are the “bigger fashion weeks” and is why Stella has always shown there, however, the London show has been reaching similar status as the other runways shows in recent years.

Other brands are going back to London Fashion week and it’s proving to be really popular. Burberry returned to London in 2009 after showing in Milan for many years, and it’s made the brand more popular in recent seasons.

Vivienne Westwood left Paris to show one of her two ready to wear lines – Red Label at London a few seasons ago. Giles Deacon went to Paris for a few seasons, but has since returned to London for the past three seasons. Designer Matthew Williamson showed for seven years in NY, but returned to show in London in 2009, proving that he too, is a convert.

However, you can’t convince Stella to stay away from Paris for too long. Her business partner is French luxury conglomerate PPR who also own Gucci and Alexander McQueen.

This news is all on top of the fact that Stella McCartney is still designing jerseys for Team GB, the Greater Britain and Northern Ireland athletes that compete at the Olympic games. Stella has teamed up with Adidas as “creative director” to design stylish and performance enhancing wear for the UK athletes.

In other fashion rumors, Marc Jacobs will not leave his post at Louis Vuitton to take over John Galliano’s old job at Christian Dior.

“I could never do this anywhere else,” says Jacobs on working with LV since 1997, “It’s not just a Paris thing – Vuitton allows me. It’s really, really something I feel particularly proud of and am grateful to the team.”

Dates for the “Louis Vuitton March Jacobs” exhibition at Les Arts Decoratifs in Paris have been announced. The exhibition between the designer and the fashion house will run from March 6 until September 16, kicking off the day before Paris Fashion week ends.
