Tom Ford: Everyone is Scared to be Daring on the Red Carpet
Fashion designer Tom Ford thinks all of Hollywood’s starlets dress super boring to red carpet events because everyone is afraid to end up on someone’s “worst dressed” list, except Tilda Swinton, Tom Ford is a huge supporter of Tilda Swinton apparently.

“I love it – but everyone is afraid to wear real style on the red carpets. You get completely ripped apart unless you’re Tilda Swinton, who I thought looked really great in Haider Ackermann that time – and in Celine at the BAFTA’s.”

Did he just say she looked great “that time?” As if he couldn’t remember which event it was? She looked great, but not great enough for me to remember when or where? Here’s a tip Tom Ford, it was either the SAG awards or the Golden Globes. I mean, how many red carpets are there, really?

Tom Ford says that his dresses are too daring to be worn at the Oscars and that more actresses should wear his designs but they aren’t because everyone is apparently too scared to be daring. This is his “excuse” for why more people don’t wear Tom Ford, apparently. Rigghhttt.

“Other than [Tilda Swinton], they don’t even take advice from me – those worst dressed list are just too harsh, it’s not good for any actress to be on them, they don’t want to take the risk,” admits Ford.

As someone who was written many “worst dressed” lists, they aren’t that bad. It’s not my fault if Busy Philipps’ dress looked like a tablecloth.

“No one wants to take any risks,” says Ford, “It’s all about a strapless dress, a fishtail hem, some borrowed and pretty hair and who can blame them with the fashion police on the prowl?”
