Tom Ford Opens First British Store

Tom Ford, God amongst men, fashion savant, and model of excellence when it comes to facial hair, has just decided to grace London with his presence by opening his first standalone store in Britain.

Of course, us across the pond already have three US flagship stores in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and New York.

A date has not yet been confirmed for the brick-and-mortar store on Sloane Street, but rumor has it that it’ll open early next year.

The store will occupy an 8,000 square-foot space at 201-206 Sloane Street. Apparently the designer is coughing up about $2 million a year to lease the space, except it’s in pounds, so like, 1.3 million British pounds.

Ford opened his first UK womenswear shop inside of Harrods this time last year. You can also pick up his pricey duds at Harvey Nichols and Selfridges, but this will be the first Tom Ford shop in London.

“We are delighted to have secured such a big name fashion brand as the anchor to 201-206 Sloane Street,” says Hugh Seaborn CEO of The Cadogan Estate, “With Tom Ford’s arrival – and Alberta Ferretti also opening a flagship store, it enhances the ‘super luxury’ offering of the development and seals its reputation as a world-class fashion destination.”

Other luxury high-end brands that already reside on the street include Chanel, Gucci and Louis Vuitton.
