Valentino

The only way to describe the Valentino Spring 2012 show is delicate, heavenly and simultaneously modern yet vintage?

Mary J. Blige hosted her 2nd Annual Mary J. Blige Honors Concert to benefit her FFAWN Foundation (Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now) last night in NYC.
Celeb friends such as Christina Aguilera, Kerry Washington, Jennifer Hudson and many more attended the concert.
The power women were all dressed to the nines for the concert.
Jennifer Hudson was sporting another dress by Victoria Beckham. Hudson is probably Victoria Beckham’s biggest customer as she’s seen in VB’s dresses almost every day.
Kerry Washington looked oh so fabulous in the multi colored Gucci dress. I have expressed my love for this dress on several occasions. It looks great on every body shape and the colors are so bold and perfect for spring.
Christina Aguilera’s Valentino dress was cute, but that hair and over the top makeup is getting really old. It’s time for a change Xtina! You are on a hit show and thing’s are finally looking up so a change in your hair and makeup might be a good idea as well.
Mary J. Blige was the lady of the night and it showed. Her dress was a stunner! The mustard colored dresses blended so well with her skin tone and hair color.
The annual concert is held to help raise money to provide young women with college scholarships.

Jessica Alba was a vision in white wearing a fringed Valentino Haute Couture mini dress that looked great matched with sexy gold Christian Louboutins.
Jess has also been sporting a new chic bob that actually looks really good on her.
The best accessory that Jessica was sporting last night was her SMILE. Yes, Jessica Alba also known as MiserAlba was smiling all night. Out of disbelief, I downloaded a bunch of photos and the smile was present in all of them.
I then realized that the reason she looked so great was because she was accompanied by her smile. It’s a good look Jess! Keep it up!

It surprised me when I found out that Valentino had collaborated with Gap for an affordable line. When H&M collaborates with a big fashion house, we usually hear so much about it!
The collaboration was to celebrate the launch of GAP Italy.
The good news is that since there is no anticipation leading up to the release because the line is actually going to hit stores this Friday, November 26.
Before you start jumping for joy there is a downside. The Valentino for GAP collection will only be available in select European stores, so unless we book tickets to Italy or Paris, we’re screwed.
The collection will include 7 pieces and will have Valentino’s signature ruffles with a lot of military inspired pieces. The only thing that’s missing is the Valentino red!

Sarah Jessica Parker says she was so nervous about her neon colored Valentino gown, she hardly slept!

She said: "This movie took a long time to make. I cared about being presentable to that degree. I never want to embarrass my children or my family. It's always lovely to get to borrow a beautiful dress. I didn't sleep at all last night. I'm still so nervous. Look at my cuticles!"
Her co-star Cynthia Nixon confessed that she took the safe route with her black Carolina Herrera dress. "I think if fans expect me to be this dressed up in my everyday life, they're going to be very disappointed. I own a lot of flats," she joked.
Everyone's favorite cougar Kim Cattrall shined on the blue carpet in her gold Naeem Khan gown and jewels by Kimberly McDonald.
Kristin Davis dressed just like Charlotte would have on a red carpet with a vintage Jean Desses pink strapless gown. She certainly looked pretty in pink!
Did their fashion choices impress or disappoint you? Who gets your vote for the best dressed on the carpet?

We were drawn to his soft silhouettes and artful flamboyance, and knew he would create a beautiful and unique look for each talent. Influenced by Chanel and Valentino, Niiamar discovered his love for artistry at an early age.
Born in 1983 in Jacksonville, Florida, he attended Douglas Anderson School of the Arts where he excelled as a singer and dancer, but later realized fashion design was his true calling.
Niiamar went on to design original pieces for several fashion shows and theater productions on the east coast. His list of accomplishments include a feature showing of his 2007 Spring collection at New York’s Rebirth 2007!: Harlem Renaissance, the six-piece women’s couture collection featured classic elegance, with ostrich feathers, jewels, bows, and subtle contours.
The Spring collection along with other notable pieces from the designer’s collection were displayed at FAMU’s Fashion Exhibit in April 2007.
Feathers, jewels, and bows are some of our favorite accessories of the moment! The Hollyscoop girls can’t wait to rock these dresses on the red carpet!

During World War 2, the Godmother of fashion Coco Chanel was forced to shut down her store in Paris due to low sales. It’s 2009 and although designers aren’t shutting down their fashion houses, they are finding creative ways to lure clients, sex.
Traditional lines like Valentino, known to exuberate class, are now taking a trendy and sexier route. Designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, Valentino's former accessory designers, had a hard entry into the haute culture after Valentino Garavani’s retirement. Seems like they are sticking with the times and going short, sexy and see-through. For Valentino, lace is the new red.
Even red carpet king Giorgio Armani is bringing sexy back from the dead. The designer opted for a sexy low-neck drop gown that can make any busty girl reveal all. Even Bridal gowns are getting sexified, as Givenchy displayed in its collection.
John Galliano displayed his collection for Christian Dior at the Dior headquarters in the Avenue Montaigne to show almost in the way the clothes were traditionally presented to clients and the press in the 1950's. Dior took his inspiration from the past and added some sexy flare as he designed some sexy see-through skirts fit for a Queen, of pop that is. Expect to see Madonna in some of his gear.
Meanwhile Jean Paul Gaultier pulled a Lady Gaga on us as he displayed leotards as formal gowns. Better start working on that epilator machine at the gym girls. Time to get those thighs of steel.

The star accompanied the designer at a special ceremony where Valentno was inducted to the Rodeo Drive Style Walk Of Fame.
Hathaway looked picture perfect in a rose cocktail dress. Adding a dash of color, Hathaway popped in a gorgeous red cocktail jacket.
The ceremony marked another milestone in the designers career, as he has been enjoying retirement from the house that bares his name.

Samsung Electronics has launched the Samsung Imagination Icon Series, bringing consumers an intimate perspective into the worlds of fashion, art and design. When it came time to kick things off, it was obvious they would pick The Red Thread: The Inspiration and Passion of Valentino Garavani as the first series.
Hollsycoop was on the red carpet for the Samsung Electronics event and celebs such as Liv Tyler, Mary J. Blige, Rachel Zoe and many more had only kind words for the fashion god. Check out the video below!

More than 800 mourners showed up to Saint-Roch church to pay their respects. Guests included Christian Lacroix, Hubert de Givenchy, Karl Lagerfeld, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, Jean Paul Gaultier, John Galliano, Karl Lagerfeld, Sonia and Nathalie Rykiel, Kenzo Takada, and Valentino.
Saint Laurent's former lover and business partner, Pierre Berge, said: "He turned fashion on its head, making it socially relevant rather than merely aesthetic.
"With Saint Laurent, women ceased being merely clothes-horses or the objects of designer fantasies."
RIP YSL, you'll be missed!
