Victoria Beckham is on the cover of the New York Times style section to discuss what she’s become known for in recent years—fashion.

Posh has gone from Spice Girl to fashionista, and now she’s been regarded as one of the best in the biz! Even Anna Wintour loves Victoria’s collection, saying, “Don’t underestimate her.”

Ken Downing, the fashion director of Neiman Marcus, added, “She’s growing up. Her knowledge of dressmaking is impressive. She understands how to bring out the best in the female form, and that’s one reason our clients are drawn to what she does. She knows how good clothes feel when they’re on. Because she has worn them.”

But for Victoria, she still thinks she’s a novice in the fashion world. “I’m very aware that I’m working my way up the ladder,” she said. “I have a long, long way to go.”

One of the things that makes the line work is her commitment to wearing her own designs. “I might get a piece of fabric and tie it around me, then ask an assistant to pin it for me,” Victoria said. “I’m not claiming to be a master draper. The bottom line is: Would I wear this?”

She’s in it for the long haul, though. Beckham added, “I want to build something that’s very respected. I want to make sure I’m in this position in 20 years’ time.”

Some people she would love to dress? Michelle Obama. “I really would love to dress her,” she said.

Though determined, Victoria is able to poke fun at herself, saying, “I’m so camp, such a gay man trying to get out” And, “It’s exhausting being fabulous.”
